Cycling Journalism?

Why has no one followed up the story of 221 'adverse findings' in pro cycling and only 27 sanctions?

Why has no one followed up the promise of a 3 man TUE committee from Cookson?

Why has no one questioned why UCI has dropped the Cologne lab for testing?

Why has it taken so long for Paolini's B sample?

Why has it taken so long for Danielson's B sample?

Why has no one contacted the relevant authorities to find out the delay?

Why has no one followed up Cookson on all his failed election promises?

I see the Ferrari suing The Program is front pages 'news'........why does CN constantly wait for others to do the work and CN simply copy&pastes it?

I think the number of responses to your (rhetorical) questions provides the answer. Nobody cares.

The readers are not interested in "journalism", so slanted biased "news" that is full of editorial comment is OK. Ignoring real news is also OK. Being current is not important. CN still shows images of the now 35 year old Geneviève Jeanson from when she was 18 years old. Same with the evil Doctor Ferrari, 40 something pics of a 60 something old guy. But nobody cares.

The owners of CN don't care because they don't have to care, because the readers don't care. This is not Woodward and Bernstein blowing the lid off Watergate. They just want to provide enough content so the people who consume cycling products visit the site often enough so that the SELLERS of cycling products can justify advertising / selling on the site. So best to allow the discouraging words about cycling peacefully and quickly fade away.

The involvement of most readers is limited to showing / looking at soft porn, or making forum comments which make them seem clever.

Remember: CN readers are mostly bike jocks or bike jock wannabes, NOT intellectuals.

Leastwise that's what I think

Just curious, but why have we been battered with articles on Froome's, Kwiatkowski's and now Landa's identical new bikes? Who's next? Thomas, Stannard and Kennaugh?

Just cover them all while you're at the camp and be done with it. I know it might be a shocking thought but some of us would like to hear about teams that have actually raced so far this year

Wow, I was right, now Thomas. So 4 identical Dogma F8's in less than 3 weeks. So whose Dogma will make the quintet? Stannard? Konig? Kennaugh?

...ok, maybe I'm just geekier than the rest of the geeks that regularly visit this geekdom but having those bikes shown is interesting for some ( read me ) because it gives some insight into the actual setup that those particular riders prefer...it is after all CyclingNews and not RacingNews....and some of us here actually ride and/or race our bikes and if you have ever done something like that you'll know setup is kinda important...

....though sadly the sizing breakdown of the bikes has not been appearing with the regularity it used to...now it has been reduced to a photo ( or two ) and a fluff piece masquerading as commentary...the old in depth look at the bike setup would be most welcome....

....just sayin' eh...

Cheers

Today's article by Ferrand relating to the crash on Ventoux.

Swarms of fans, a nice adjective to describe humans. A swarm. Straight out of Tory/UKIP mouths. Terrible.

I've been racing for over 20 years and I'm only 35 ;)

I love seeing the pro's setups, just not article after article on the same bike. Seeing as the reviews in question appear to have all been during a camp, why not feature the whole team in one solid article and then move on to other teams? As you said, it's CyclingNews  but at the time we were getting TeamSkyNews and they hadn't even raced at that point apart from the TDU.
