Hugo Koblet bring back to my memory how prodigious talent Sagan was. He even skewed Hugo´s statistics  I really thought back in 2012 he could put himself amongst all time legends someday. I would tell in 2012 that by now he will have at least five monument wins. He did not reach his full potential I think.

Too early to say. He is only 26 years old still and he looks stronger than ever. Plus he kinda got his first monument last year in Richmond.

Most cyclists peak in their late 20's, it's actually amazing how young he was when he broke through. He has plenty of time left.

Riders born in 1990 have now won 100 grand tour stages. Could be more if I've left someone out.

The thing with 1990ers is that they were almost all very good from a very young age. In 2012 (when they were still eligible for the U23 ranks), 5 of them were in top-100 of CQRanking and 11 in the top-12, in 2013 (23y) the number was 8 (15) and in 2014 (24y) 12 (24). When they should be reaching their peak age (27y, so 2017), a total of 17 riders born in 1990 were in the CQ top-100.

The comparison with last year:
22y (2000) - 3 top-100 (-40%)
23y (1999) - 6 (-25%)
24y (1998) - 8 (-33%)
27y (1995) - 10 (-41%)

If we see how many 27y old are in each annual CQ top-100, the 1990 generation stands out with 17, 3 more than the next best year of birth (1992).

2005: 12
2006: 8
2007: 11
2008: 12
2009: 5
2010: 7
2011: 6
2012: 11
2013: 11
2014: 8
2015: 9
2016: 9
2017: 17
2018: 6
2019: 14
2020: 12
2021: 12
2022: 10

They are the bright young stars when I finally had access again to live cycling, and how exciting it has been to see them grew. It almost come full circle now. None of them are still among the top winners these days, some of them has hung up their wheels relatively early, some of them might look like they're losing their ways, and most are just in normal decline. But memorable batch of riders indeed, and they still are not completely quiet!
