Re: Re:
Are you saying he didn't have the right connections when he was at BC or Barloworld? You think 2 months at Saunier Duval got him in touch with all the necessary contacts!!! Maybe Saunier Duval were really that open about doping but I highly doubt they would be handing out doping advice/contacts to a 20 year old on a trial basis, especially one they didn't see fit to sign to a contract!!
Also blackcat will vouch for one member of that team being clean, a guy that made the Top 15 of the Dauphine prologue. I know of another former poster who vouched for another member of that team. Marco Pinotti had a pretty good reputation and had the backing of the Italian Bassons(Micula De Matteis) who was a member of Tenax(forerunner to the infamous LPR of 98 fame) and then ironically rode for a Saunier Duval feeder team. Rubens Bertogliati was another rider who had a bit of a clean rep.
Millar never said the entire team doped so don't know where that comes from.

2006 does.

I doubt SV put him on their program
Yes a fat, unfit trainee, apparently :-/
I doubt it as well, but he was now connected to the right people, and did spend time with those guys, all of whom doped. Except Millar.
His aspirations have undergone significant marginal gains.
Thomas's ability to ride fast was confirmed when he won the team pursuit gold at the Palma, Spain Track World Championships earlier this year. The GB team went under four minutes for 4,000 metres, pace Thomas hopes to show at the Tour. "I see myself as a lead out man at the moment," he concluded. "I seem to be able to hold the top end for a long time and stay on the front from two kilometres out. Further down the line I would like to see what I could do in other races like the one-day classics."
