French men are the Dutch women of men’s cycling, these guys hate each other and aren’t afraid to tell us, excellent scenes. He should know that Pinot was himself a bit of a messy tart back in the day.

This thread might be a more fitting place for that discussion.

Gaudu looked great at the 2024 Vuelta a Espana and had a good season start building up towards the 2025 Giro d'Italia. Then his illness destroyed all shape.

Maybe he shouldn't have ridden himself blue at the Giro d'Italia once it became clear he doesn't have the shape at the Tour de Romandie!?

This isn't the first time Madiot has done that to his riders either. We always criticize PostNL for it, but he's a total idiot as well.

He's an old school idiot.

The mentality is a rider needs to prove his worth and show his metal by finishing a grand tour. Un grand tour, ça se respecte! (or some such claptrap).

Meanwhile modern cycling is about multiple objectives. If one is borked, aim for the next with the path of least resistance.

Butbut le Panache...
I agree, this "keep fighting" approach is usually not doing the riders any good.

Martinelli said the same BS when Vlasov had to DNF that Giro stage because he was vomiting during the stage (back when Vlasov still rode for Astana).
