I see Philipsen removed from start list for Alpecin
Article in the website confirms it.
Focusing on Scheldeprijs and PR makes more sense for him. He would have a hard time doing anything in Ronde.I see Philipsen removed from start list for Alpecin
In fairness, they are probably wider than the average pro-rider.I love this! Thanks for giving us an inside view. In the photo of folks walking on the Koppenberg it looks even narrower (using two of the walkers as reference) than when we see the full peloton charging up it. It’s astounding that there aren’t even more crashes entering a segment like that!
Great ride! I have done the tourist version of Flaunders several times now, and each time, we had to walk up the Koppenberg due to other people walking. I have never finished the Koppenberg on my bike; it continues to be on my to-do list. I did love the ride every time, so many people cheering you on. Amazing.Did my 3h(05) ride today.
Yeah I was saving myself in the run in so maybe they could go out of the way if they couldn’t do it but we already caught them fast and then someone fell and 2 others behind us who tried to ride the muddy part. That’s a reason why I would never do the cyclo, with thousands of people.Great ride! Did Thomas have something else to offer besides beer and chicken......
I need that jacket...
Surely he would have been useful to do time on the front and help bring things back together before 50k to go? He is very strong. And mvdp has done so much for him at the tour and MSR one wonders what Jasper has or will ever do for mvdp?Focusing on Scheldeprijs and PR makes more sense for him. Pretty much the same schedule as last year for him. Almost identical.
They have other riders for that though.Surely he would have been useful to do time on the front and help bring things back together before 50k to go? He is very strong. And mvdp has done so much for him at the tour and MSR one wonders what Jasper has or will ever do for mvdp?
....Or someone else. No one is riding away solo, IMOHis only chance to win if he will ride away with Kung, podium is doable
Ha! Yeah, I had that thought as wellIn fairness, they are probably wider than the average pro-rider.
Most Idaho truck stops have them or something like it. Now that I live here the lack of retail clothing outlets for anything other than Gucci ski clothes is pretty narrow. One note: you'll find the coat sizing somewhat more...er, LARGE.I need that jacket...
edit: wow, it was just one google image search away: https://lilbeesbohemian.com/products/mens-cafe-brown-suede-sherpa-lined-jean-style-jacket
Jasper almost put mvdp on the ground at PR.They have other riders for that though.
Probably isnt good for Jasper before Scheldeprijs and PR.
MVDP wanted to do that though. Tour as prep for Worlds. Win-win for everyone.
As MSR played out, win-win for everyone.
Jasper in some ways played a great part in the PR win for MVDP last year. Win-win for everyone.
So far their partnership seems to work great.
Ronde is probably not the best race for that. It doesnt suit Philipsen. It is too hard.
thanks -- wife already vetoed it unfortunatelyMost Idaho truck stops have them or something like it. Now that I live here the lack of retail clothing outlets for anything other than Gucci ski clothes is pretty narrow. One note: you'll find the coat sizing somewhat more...er, LARGE.

Yeah, you're right! Cancellara was heavily marked in that edition. Watched a replay again and he almost dropped Thor on a cobble section but he got held up by motos and had to drift back into the group. My memory is that he tried to attack the favorites group numerous times but did not get a gap and no one would work with him, they were basically all willing to track stand while the early group was still up the road. It actually seemed like Canc had just given up completely but attacked one last time on an almost invisible rise and finally shook off Thor et al and then somehow managed to chase down everyone but Vansummeren in the last handful of Ks.
Easy to say now but since he was looking so good, done both E3 and G-W... he shouldnt have started in Dwars. Maybe they should taken the safe route and done a harder ride in training or something during the week instead, when it was looking so good for them.Mads Pedersen says he has a lot of fluid in his body due to the many blows he received. As I expected when I saw the crash, he won't be 100% ready for Flanders. I believe with his weakened team in mind, he would have to be more thant 100% ready if he were to have a chance of winning.
Pedersen also states that the crash was the only thing that was not allowed to happen the other day - the result was irrelevant (I just mention this after someone in this forum claimed that pro riders always go full throttle no matter what race it is).
and Benoot thinks he is racing with a broken rib
