I expect something simular aswell early on but I do wonder how much it impacts him having basically the entire second part of the season without the intensity from racing km in his legs, quite some time and to which extent the uncertain situation impacted the quality of training he had duo to proper rest in betwem. Wouldnt surprise me if he had to ease to some degree more into it atleast in UAE tour.

Gee is surrounded by some quality guys at Trek, many at the end of good pro careers.
Ayuso is a talent, Ciccone better than both in my opinion at 31.
Trek has a solid squad and Gee has real opportunities. Depending on how you look at it either UAE thought Isaac Del Toro is flying or getting some decent hard kilometers are beneficial. He had Strade as his start but now will come out 3 weeks earlier.
If Gee ends up racing UAE tour it's a great chance for him to show his early form.

Last year I saw 2 pro riders changing clothes( don't ask) and it still keeps me up at night! I think Gee looks good, I hope he finds a rhythm with Trek, they have a few of my favorite riders that will likely retire after this season.
Maybe the kit color has a " slimming " effect on svelte Derek. I don't think he will ask anyone, doesn't this maple leaf make me look fat.. I am pulling for the guy.
A guy I like, Patrick Konrad , has zero business at the race. Max Walscheid again another old guy did have some shine in the middle east last year, got a 4th in stage 6 at UAE last year. I sort of see Trek setup for Milan even less sorta see a plan for Gee. Sort of a high profile training race.
I am wondering if Trek has the most over 30 riders on World Tour.

It's like how riders can look normal in their skinsuits and compared to each other. Like Roglic may even look big compared to smaller, purer climbers like Vingegaard, Mas or Hindley, then you see a picture posted of him in normal casual streetclothes and you're ready to send drones with food aid.

Gee didn't free fall ,he got a decent 14th in the TT, and factor in he got beat by specialists and animal Remco. Big signal, Tiberi got 13th, Del Toro 25th. Tiberi is above Del Toro on GC. Gee will need to stay in contact with the front of the race tomorrow.
