Honestly I can't really see a big bunch sprint tomorrow the stage is pretty hilly from the start and the smaller teams could really work in the favour of those who want to make it a hard race.

In my eyes it could be more a finish for a Haller, Kanter or Quinn-type more than Jakobsen, Ewan and Kooij. But Gaviria is also climbing reasonable this year and Kristoff is always a few percentages better in Germany so maybe they can make the finish

What excactly is the ppoint of a 3km TT in a 5 day race. That is beyond ridicilous, what a wußte of a race day.
  • It's a first step to further expand the race without having to put on another road stage (the race is still running a deficit mind)
  • It's further incentive to potential hosts of the first stage, giving them another day of exposure
  • It acts as an riders/team presentation but with actual racing instead of a stage and some waving riders
  • In the context of the route this year it's a really good fit imo. Some climbers already have little gaps and an incentive to go early on Schauinsland (which again the climb favours in his profile)
  • It gives another kind of rider the chance for a result. Realistically there is only one sprint this year and even there some sprinters might be dropped. The prologue is giving those plus some leadouts a nice opportunity.
  • Its just a great evening of racing in the midst of a city which will attract people to bike racing. There is literally nothing cycling in Germany can use more than that these days

Great prologue to start the race. Every stagerace should start with one. Everything between 1km and 7,7 kms is fine.

Will make for great racing today

Would be perfect for Schachmann, if he would be here and fit.

I think we will see more attacks today then yesterday, because there are more hills in the end, although they are not very steep and long.

Could be a reduced bunch sprint again, a small group will arrive together or even a solo win is possible. So let´s see..

Gaviria abandoned the race. Wouldn´t have a shot anyway today or Friday. Also for Jakobsen should be too difficult, if he already had problems yesterday..
