Did Big Mig get faster or did Greg just get slower?

The latest from Greg.... a story we all know very very very well by now:

"But something had changed in cycling. The speeds were faster and riders that I had easily out performed were now dropping me"

http://www.cyclingnews.com/blogs/greg-lemond/the-art-of-peaking-for-the-tour-de-france

But did Big Mig really get faster - or did Greg just get slower?
The data seems to indicate that Greg got slower....

.................Greg's Time........Big Mig's Time.....TdF Winner
1989 Tour.........87hrs...............88hrs................Greg
1990 Tour.........90hrs...............91hrs................Greg
1991 Tour........101hrs.............101hrs...............Big Mig
1992 Tour..........DNF...............100hrs...............Big Mig
1993 Tour..........DNF.................95hrs...............Big Mig
1994 Tour.......DNS/DNF?..........103hrs...............Big Mig
1995 Tour........retired...............92hrs................Big Mig

Did the Tour de France become more difficult during Big Mig's wins?
Why did the Tour de France take longer to finish during Big Mig's time?
Why did Greg slow down after 1990?

Wouldnt average speeds be more relevant for a starting point, then looking at how mountainous the route was, etc? Not sure about the rest of the times but i think Lemond finished 13 minutes behind in 1991 rather than 13 hours.;)

Man, I can't wait for Phil, Paul, and Bob to have to come to terms with the fact that Armstrong never had a suitcase of courage, only a suitcase full of drugs. Dang.

people, this is a 100% troll thread typical of polish and his puppets/clowns/clones.

not a brainier really - intended to distract and misdirect the board's energy and focus from the fatal news about to hit his vested interest.

please ignore him/it.

Comparing times (even if the same course was used) can't compare weather/wind conditions so to spend time on this is a waste and irrelevant.

Suitcase full of drugs -- I love it! But Phil, Paul and Bob have a suitcase full of cash for feeding us all this crap through the years. Can't blame them I guess. If my lucrative job depended on toeing the company line I too might guzzle down the kool-aid.

Lemond definitely started the 94 Tour. I distinctly remember how tired and haggard he looked when I saw him at the signing on in Portsmouth. I think he abandoned a couple of days later.

Funny...it took less than a minute to see that the average speed of lemond's fastest tour win was eclipsed by every one of Big Mig's Tour wins. You can't give the "bikes were faster/stiffer/lighter" line either b/c the bikes changed very little at that time (in fact, initially they became slightly heavier with the advent of STI/Ergopower).

The OP was the most ridiculous thing I've read in a while. My eyes hurt from rolling.
