Well... I just skimmed through the job/education-thread and there were a number of people attending high school! And a lot of people who assumed they were all older than they were. But I suppose times have changed since then, and forums have gone out of favour.
Yeah, when I joined the forum, I was younger than you were when you joined.

EDIT: As an aside, I joined my first English-language message board when I was 14.

Are you referring to when that thread got started... back in 2012?
People who were younger in 2012 are generally speaking older now than they were back then when they were younger.

There are some who joined more recently! It wouldn't surprise me if one or two were teenagers.

Older... they are older. They were younger.
I should go cook dinner...

Let's hope your stove or oven doesn't put on a parental lock because there's a hypothetical chance you could be U-18.

I thought the main problem my game faced was CQ taking a longer holiday than most people, but it seems I was wrong.

Just... move the servers to Denmark! We do have somewhat of a presense on this forum after all.
Wouldn't matter where the servers were, as long as the site remains open to UK residents it applies. Denmark is also working to implement similar rules through an expansion of the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).

A rule that makes it impossible for people to have private conversations?
I very much doubt that.

I think it goes without saying, we wouldn't have it in place if not legally required to do so.

You're legally required to make it impossible for people to keep personal information between themselves?
LoL

It's my impression that it's to protect children from groomers, supposedly. You may be a 12yo, so very bad things can happen if an adult can send you private messages ...

Then those kinds of adults will just find a NEW way to groom children... or the "good old way" of having children they know IRL be the victims...

I was 16 or 17 when I started reading the forum and 17 when I joined. Back then for like 1-2 years I was reading the forum on my Wii U.

I get why, but that's disappointing. Has there ever been thought of creating a Discord server for Cyclingnews instead of the forum?

I was 22 when I joined. Hadn't known about the forum that long before that.
See? Unlike you guys, I actually behaved myself and didn't join when I was a minor.

BTW, how come some of us have our ages listed in our profiles while others... don't?
