...In view of my closed thread: Lingerie Cyclists, I thought I'd pose this question to our august readers.

Incidentally, none of the mods are German.

But at least one lives in Germany, no? I find that if one lives there, one picks up the general traits of thae area; absorption, I believe is the English term.

That's an interesting assumption. But that moderator is still by no means German.

So, this moderatior is perhaps one of the Occuping Americans still left lolling about the country keeping a close watch on said Germans lest they think of starting another war?

How's Ramstein?

There is a distinct lack of humor at many times from both mods and regular members. Try making a crack about Australia some time and watch ACF94's reaction. It's gold, Jerry. Gold.

You couldn't be more mistaken. But all you need to know about me is that I am a cyclng journalist and forum mod, who happens to live in Germany.

Susan

OK, so how's your sense of humor holding up living around all those Germans?

I really enjoyed my stay in Frankfurt a few years ago. Nice place and people. Had a really bad pizza, though the chips were good. And Goethe was from there.

I life just a few kilometers away from Susan, and, considering that area, I can understand that Susan is perhaps sometimes too strict and doesn't leave much room for fun.
She has to compensate us people living around here, you know. :D

Also you should know that this here is more international thinking and living around here, and now even borders are gone since a long time.
Belgium, Netherlands and Germany all mixed up. Other people and cultures, like Turkish, on top.
Most Dutch speak German and the other way around, same about the Belgians. On top, there is a NATO airbase just around the corner and there a many US people living here, and added to that mix.

So, I consider Susan as a very cool and funny person. She only has to compensate all those people here, you know.

If you want to see Seppels in Lederhosen, you have to go to some tourist spots in Bavaria. If you want to see black clothed, serious people not beeing able to smile and laugh, you have to watch Derrick or go to the Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt.

We have a pretty good sense of humour, I'd say. Completely crazy. Susan has her work cut out. Anyway you need a sense of humour if you're going to watch German cycling coverage.

Germany? Great country.

Germans? Great people. Friendly, sociable, helpful.

German language? Brilliant! If you don't have the right word, make one up from bits of words you do know.

German sense of humour? Excellent, except they think that Mr. Bean is hilarious. I never did find out why.

You do realise that the mods can edit both the questions and the votes ;)

am expecting some new options (with high vote counts) pretty soon :p

yeah but at the same time, if you make a crack that winds up ACF, at least on mod is likely to be laughing along with you in the background (and he's Australian...)

I think so!

Of course we don't. We are especially picked for our total lack of humour.

This is humour to me. Irony FTW!

Man, it already took all of my family to rig the other one... now I need to ring around to rig this one too?

Naah... you'll just need to stand on one hand while eating an engergy gel and saying like a bike-wheel!:p

Many of you are lucky that ACF actually has a sense of humour and is tolerant considering some of the things that are said on here.

Your thread was over the top and therefor not that funny. You should have worked on it harder. To me it was a bit of a lazy attempt to stir the forum, not actually funny.
