Elia has beaten Cav a few times in the last 2 years, I wouldn't say that he's on the same level as Cav, but the gap between them isn't as big as the gap between Cav an Kittel. :D

As I've already said, I don't put too much emphasis on January/early February racing, but there is no question that this is good for MK. If you watch the sprint those three are going the same speed (until MC sat up) so it might be a matter of who hits the front first. AG and other sprinters have looked good at other races so we could be in for a good year of fast finishes.

When a reporter asks him what happened in the final, what do you want him (or any racer) to say? He told them that he took a bad line. That's not an excuse, its him admitting that he messed up. Obviously you don't like MC, but how would you like him to answer the question?

"Kittel and Viviani were too strong."

True, but sprinting is much more than who's stronger/faster. On paper you could be the fastest, but if you don't have the ability to position yourself well, stay sheltered till the end, pick good lines, ect. you won't win much. Cav's answer was fine imo. If he had blamed his teammates that would be an entirely different story.

Maybe, but MC was four+ bike lengths back (tactical error as he said), and closed to EV's wheel before sitting up. If he doesn't have to close that gap he might be able to challenge for the line.

the dam finish isn't bad nice mix of riders and enough in build up to thin out the field, not much this week in what is gloried training ride Funny qatar wants be world tour when its the least appealing of the races from variety point of view.

What is the point of continuing and renaming the thread? Why not just start a new thread for Qatar?
Relevant info about Dubai, if there is any aftermath, will have nowhere to go; people researching that race in the future will have no relevant title to search for; off-topic discussion that arose during that race will interrupt discussion of this one. Those wanting to find the route maps/favourites etc of the Qatar race, instead of the easy task of going to the first few posts, will have to look for something that turns out to be around page 7.

We have no upper limit on the number of threads that are running (or none low enough be relevant): I perceive of absolutely no advantage of continuing and renaming the previous thread, and plenty of disadvantages.
