Wout loses this race because his teammates didn't infiltrate the Ganna/Vermeersch/Dewulf move. Visma could have won it
They did it perfectly untill then. But they can’t react every time. We could see on television that Ganna was the strongest of that group so you should cover it. Hagenes was always 2nd wheel. I think Laporte was guessing on his sprint more than covering attacks.

He doesn't have the sprint at the moment, haven't been able to train standing sprint with the wrist, so he has to do it by watt over time, not 17-1800 W in a sprint. But maybe you are some God who can call better people stupid from your keyboard...

Sad, you are...

Looks like Visma split their bets a bit too much. When van aert went, they had haganes marking any moves alone for ~40k, whilst laporte saved for the sprint.

Haganes understandably ran out of energy towards the end, and then I think Laporte was too focused on saving for the sprint if it all came back together, instead of taking over and marking attacks. Nothing wrong with what van aert did but wrong strategy in the last 5k by Visma in my opinion. Laporte was never winning a bunch sprint and van aert was their only bet to win

He looked plenty fast in Sanremo.

You could also have made this post without the insults.

His being pretty open about his ties to the Devil though.

These riders are people, they can't mark every move. It was already quite an achievement to keep the gap at 15 secs for as long as they did.

Yes, ideally one of them would have been on the wheel of Ganna and whatshisface, but that's not a strategic mistake.

What a race. NSN and Uno-X should’ve paced more earlier. Abrahamsen did one long pull with 3-4 kilometers left, but maybe he could’ve done more to keep a bit stable pace say from kilometer 15 to 5. Girmay had at least 2 helpers and they did nothing before the final kilometer. Wasted opportunity.
its a delicate balance

they also didnt have enough firepower left to catch all the late attackers

Yeah is a fine balance. Laporte was very badly out of position until the final 2-3km

Pedersen riding stupid is a constant of nature
People with no inside knowledge thinking they know better, because of what they see on a telly is a constant.
Saying that Mads can win in a sprint with that competition at the moment is stupid and generalising like you did is stupid as well, no matter how big a contributor you are in here.
Maybe have some respect for the riders who creates the action and understand if you wanna win and not just finish in top 5, you have to take chances...

Tell me, how did Ganna return to the peloton after his bike change?

Nothing against Ganna, he didn't steal this win, but of course he had a bit of help. Impossible otherwise.
He stood there alongside the road just waiting, oh there's my bike.. But no wheel. Another minute lost. Next thing you know, literally 1 minute later, he is back in the peleton. So either he did 150km/h himself or hanging on the car. We all know he didn't do it himself. So this will be a dsq. Congrats with the victory Wout!

Edit; I like Ganna a lot, but this was just some bs.

By now you'd think the cycling gods are building up karma for Van Aert to take that one big Monument win in the coming weeks... I just don't see how, he's not going to follow Pogi and he could barely follow a cooked Van der Poel last weekend. Maybe in Roubaix, who knows.

Maybe, but of course this happens all the time. And Visma aren't in any position to file a complaint since they famously had an epic sticky bottle situation themselves just a few days ago (even though that one was of no consequence to the race whatsoever).
