No news/timing anymore from the peloton behind G2. Sometimes in those races they suddenly get really close again in the last km’s. But the gap was almost a minute so not counting on it today, just hoping.

They weren't far from being caught, but now I doubt they will be. SDW should be working, but we know they will attack rather than pull.

Yes it’s over now. Who’s the fastest/strongest after today? Could be a close sprint.

Now the others teammates are working. If they’re helped UAE they would’ve caught them.

Nooijen gave us something. And maybe Vollering lost it there. Reusser played it good and a close win.

Backstedt won the sprint behind. Kopecky didn’t even try today it seems.

Today showed a lack of teamwork in the womens peleton. Alpecin and SDWorx had to ride for Kopecky and Kool. Instead their teamates put in token efforts. I guarantee you that if Paternoster did not puncture, Anderson would have e headed the peleton.

SD Worx are used to other teams being dumb enough to do their work for them / sabotaging themselves by boneheaded tactical decisions / being so completely OP that they can win despite questionable tactics (delete as appropriate)

I think they are not OP anymore. When was the last race post Vollering at SDW where they were sabotaging themselve and looked OP?

Just saw some videos on Sporza where someone is following in the Shimano car. It said there was only 1 team car per team in this race. Some team cars went to the front group so had no help in the peloton, that’s when the Shimano car come to play.

I don’t get this. Isn’t this very unprofessional for a newly WT race? Saw some flat tyres and they had to wait long or keep riding untill a helper next to the road. And race over.

With Vollering and Reusser gone SDW seems much more streamlined and single minded. The question is how long can Weibes and Kopecky hold it together.

well Id have said that time they were trying to gift riders wins, which I know Demi was still with them at the time contractually, but wasnt riding those races and was clearly out the door.

maybe its because AvdB is too busy racing these days to not screw things up as a DS. but I kind of think its more the case Kopecky and Wiebes race programs havent clashed yet, largely because of injury and the different goals theyve had, so the team have always had the clearer single race goal to aim for.

so Sundays race could be interesting. from that perspective. Wiebes isnt riding that as a pure domestique, showed at GentWevelgem she can climb cobbles, but Kopecky said her aim was to win the classics this year, and with Bredewold an outside chance to surprise everyone.

True. I will write my thoughts about this in the Ronde thread.
