Probably an elementary question I know, but why wouldn't five chasers work together to get him back? Is it because the other four can't see any point, as it would let Sagan win?

If you're alone there's no reason to hold back anything, if you stay away you win. If you give 100% in a group the others (who will probably hold back a bit) will beat you in the end. So you need to keep some reserve for when Cancellara gets caught

Combine that with the fear of Sagan and the fact that Cancellara probably handled the effort so far better than anyone else and you get a situation where only a Fabian implosion will cause him to lose today.

Exciting and great race from 70km - 30km to go. Then static and boring.

A bit like the Black Album. Good for the first 40 minutes, and static and boring in the last 30.

SKY and OPQS could still come back together to lead a chase, so that Sagan will win. He isn't up to doing it own it seems

It is. Let's hope the others will put up a bigger fight in the RvV and P-R.

Besides that it's an impressive ride by Cancellara!

nonsense, the two dropped the same time and then looked back constantly

because they were dropped and their leader attacked.

What were they supposed to do?

The last 50k of Roubaix are sure to be boring this year.

Careful, you aren't allowed to dislike a certain rider who may or may not have a name similar to a character from a certain video game that I guess I am not allowed to mention...

Go watch 2010 and 2011...

No... Only GT and some proper classics. Northern classics is a low cycling genre. :) I truly believe it exists mostly for fans from Benelux

Nah, I'd rather stay here so you can continue to swing your handbag.

Yes. Are you happy I swing my handbag? Are you satisfied you annoy people? I'm glad that's something you feel good about

Are you saying the last 10km haven't been static?

What was paris-roubaix last year? ;)

It's obvious you're trying to dismiss what Canc is doing here, are you denying it?

Fair enough, thanks for the explanation. Still seems odd to me, since as long as everyone takes an equal turn then you're only working 20% of the time? Obviously that relies on everyone taking a turn. . .

has anyone noticed how "estrange" Cancellara looks on the bike-compared to his glorious days back in 2010?

Would be interesting to see the Powerfiles from these races to quantify the without effort a bit.

I was referring to how easy the rest broke and he got away. Not the insane amount of power going into the move. He went once and it was over, I would call that easy.

Remember all that talk about how Cancellara only has one tactic and it doesn't work for him anymore?

What proper classics? These guys actually race for 70km unlike the other mob.

You are allowed to dislike a rider. Just try to keep it civilised. It's not that hard.
