Well he might have not anticipated such strong split so early and was to far back, fortunately for him it all came back together

Maybe but I think you always expect a bit of action on the Booonenberg and if you're feeling good you're towards the front. I hope I'm wrong and he's actually feeling good

Didn't say it was logical or not risky. Also I just remembered that lots of tinkoff riders were held up by a collision
