Still finding recent victory salute bow from Del Toro, speedsuit ripped open, to be finest so far. Actually one of the best, one for the history books of finest salutes (of course UCI here handing fine, where they should have given him some extra credit for fine artistic performance, ***s.)

It's hilarious to me that the one race I choose to make fun of Soudal's cobbles squad is the one they somehow get fourth in. Sometimes it feels like I have the strongest jinxing powers out of anyone on the forum.
It's cobbled classics, random schmucks get great places all the time. Pretty sure casuals wouldn't be able to tell me who got 2nd in RVV last year without looking it up.

While WvA was abysmal, even in top shape there seems to be nothing that can stop MvdP winning 2-3 years of big monuments. He is such a killer, such a talent and riding these races technically and tactically perfect. There would be no shame finishing second behind MvdP in all of these races, but WvA finished about 7th in a sprint for a top 20, seated. That's far below what anyone would expect, probably even including himself.

Good man Mathieu, a stirring tribute

That doesn't make him "washed," it means what it means to may people in sports. Taking fewer risks when you have a family is not uncommon in all disciplines in cyclint, auto racing, and many other dangerous sports. Why you need to disrespect him is weird to me.
Your emotional connection to WVA is bliding you... his problem is not just about him taking fewer risks. His legs are very underwhelming too, he is probably not "sacrificing" his body like he used to be. For me, that is his main problem. His head and heart are not 100% focused in cycling anymore IMHO. When this happens, retirement is very soon (e.g. Dumoulin, Sagan as recent examples).

WvA told in an interview he rode away with Florian Vermeersch on Koppenberg (*). Maybe that explains why he wasn't with the lead group: he trained the extra miles to be ready next week! :)

(*) before correcting himself with Kwaremont
