Weirdly for a diesel/TT style rider I think Ganna actually accelerates best standing up, which is a bit of a killer on cobbled climbs.
yeah, probably poor insticts because it's steep. You'd think the team would have told him to ride different + aero hoods position on the flat. You could probably get Ganna in a more aero road position without sacrificing power, just by changing a few things and trying to correct "bad" habbits.

I heard VwA's right knee is still significantly weaker. He just isn't the same rider, at least for the moment. Add his poor positioning for whatever reason (fear, no racing rythm) and all there is to hope is he's more or less in shape for a decent Roubaix (with a top 5) and the TdF.
That is troublesome... but maybe the decline is also hitting similar to how it hit Sagan and Ala in recent years. Just dont got the same legs anymore.

His wheel slipped as soon as he made the acceleration. I might well be wrong but I think he'd have been able to follow Pedersen there if it had been asphalt

He seems to have very little traction on the rear wheel even when sprinting.

Pedersen looking strong, back on Paris Nice form. Good to see! Wout too far back and no legs, I can see him having to domestique for Jörgenson.

For purely selfish CQ game related reasons, I'd actually prefer if the "other" Pedersen got the best result.

Jorgenson will be up there setting a big pace on mountains in the Tour, pretty absurd rider but might suffer a bit from not deciding on specialising.

If this is permanent decline for Van Aert, it is coming far, far faster than it did for Sagan. Last year he was unquestionably still a top-3 classics rider and now he's in 2020s Sagan mode, Sagan at least still had a 2019 with top-5s in two monuments and the Worlds before he really crashed and burned.

Mads looks impressive. What a difference with his Taaienberg last time. Will be hard for Mathieu to win this against him and Ganna.

Nah. VdP looked easy following that attack. He wont have trouble winning this

If it's the knee, it makes sense.

E3 is a lot of flat in the end. If he can’t drop them it will be difficult against Pedersen in the sprint. And Ganna won’t be far away if he gets dropped.

This was probably the most boring possible outcome of Taaienberg.

VdP will win without too much trouble and group 2 is cooperating terribly so no excitement about podium places.

Child support really ended Sagan as a top rider...
