Decathlon simply cannot become a top-tier team. They have numbers, but they are not champions. Every race is the same with them.

can you really say MvdP was the imperious winner there ?

he wins because he doesnt give up, and raced solo for along time, absolutely, but the rest of the race took the stupid pills for today, theres no way he should have won the race doing that, and its not his ability that made the rest act so dumb

Mathieu’s best tactical move to let them think he would stop riding. It disrupted the chasers. Happy he takes it but I imagine he wouldn’t have gone so deep after all.
I get rationalising it but I don't think it's excusable. If you haven't made contact and it's 2s away with 800m to go, you should not and cannot sit up. Collective brain fade

Mathieu must to better if he's to win RVV and PR
Probably, but he did a 70k solo, riding against a big peloton for most of that time, and then a strong group had been out of the wind almost all day took 30km to close 45 seconds.

Actually he gave up. He stopped riding but G2 stopped riding more.

Damn Abrahamsen, Hagenes and Dewulf were absolute rxxxxxs at the end, they raced for second when the chance of getting first was so close.

64km solo win for Van der Poel, one of the biggest of his career however I am not fully convinced with his level ahead of RVV.
