What was the context? I mean, with all due respect, Boswell appears to have run out of pro contracts at age 29.

That said, wasn't EF's sponsorship a long-term investment? Online language courses weren't exactly hit strongly by Covid-19 and the economic crisis. Although their language traveling of course was shut down just like most holidays.

EF owns the team. Nippo would become a co-sponsor. last year Nippo signed just 1 year deal with Delko-Marseille (for 2020)

I like how their wins are chronologically sorted by race category.
What a great year by EF- they have been a factor in pretty much every major race this year. If this was a regular year with all races going as planned, they could've beaten their record of 28 wins from 2011.
I'm hoping Cort and Woods will continue to improve and will be there for Carthy in the next 2 weeks. I can't believe Van Garderen is one of the first 50 guys to get dropped uphill. He has been ridiculed so much in the past but he has never been anywhere near this bad in the last 10 years.

Severe lack of 1.1, 2.Pro, and 1.UWT.
Tejay has just been a non-entity this season. I haven't seen him in any race. His best result is 21st in the Paris-Nice TT, before he jumped on a plane back home as things started to shut down. Even if he's fetching bottles, you'd expect him to be more visible in races where Rigo or Martinez were going for GC.
That's right- a rider like Tejay is expected to have a plenty of top50 placings on mountain stages even if he's on domestique duties. This year he hasn't been top50 a single time outside of that Paris-Nice TT and one more P-N stage.
This Vuelta is a race when Carthy needs him because Martinez DNF-ed and half of the team are just average classics specialists of whom nothing is expected in the mountains. If Woods is in the break, TJ should be Carthy's last man but he just drops as soon as they hit a mountain and a small uplift in pace. I've only seen him working on the flat this year and not a lot. It seems even Logan Owen climbs better than him.

They have been punching well above their payroll class. Hopefully they can continue to attract more sponsorship and maintain some of this talent that's shown up.

I think he's become more of a flat/rolling hills rider than a climber at this point.
He was 2nd in the Dauphine in 2019. Granted there was a ITT in there where he gained time on all the top 10, but you don't just forget how to climb that completely in the space of 18 months. If his results went the other direction, people would be asking questions and directing us to a different subforum.

His climbing has been declining for awhile now. Also his TTing has always been very good and that still is, which is why he's still helpful to a team on flats and rolling hills.
It's true but it's like his decline from 2019 to 2020 was thrice as much as his decline from his prime until 2019. It's still puzzling.
In 2019 he finished 2nd in Dauphine, 9th in California, 19th in Paris-Nice, 16th in UAE Tour and was 33rd in TdF's GC after La Planche des Belles Filles. Now he can't even finish top50 on a single stage.
yes, agree, something is wrong this year. Wouldn’t be surprised if he retires after next year unless he can find form again.
Does he even have a contract for next year? Phinney was climbing better the year he retired. (may be an exaggeration)

Actually that California race was very telling about how much his climbing had fallen. He was actually gifted time in one stage where he was given the time of the lead group but he really hadn't actually gotten back to it.
EF apparently offered to extend with every single of their current riders so that they're not in trouble of finding a team in these difficult times, so it's up to him if he wants to continue.
