Well, my prediction hasn't aged well. ;)

The problem is that if they wait too long to make the announcements, people might have forgotten who the riders are.

"Do you remember the guy with the Odd name, who lead the Vuelta last year?
Neither did we, but apparently we offered him a contract at the time and now we can't get out of it (just like the Rapha/Palace deal).

Anyway, he'll be making his team debut at the Etoile de Bessèges later today. Good luck!"

He seems like an EF type of rider, meaning opportunistic and versatile.
Not so long ago an EF (basically Cannondale at the time) type of rider was the opposite of versatile. All of those one-dimensional climbers like Cardoso, Dombrowski, Rolland who had 0 explosiveness, sprint, TT or downhill skills, their classics leader was Vanmarcke who could never win anything because he was only good on cobbles but lacked both the sprint and the ability to sustain a solo effort and even Uran forgot how to TT for a while!
Those were some frustrating times even though EF really had the numbers in some of the big races, they could never win anything due to these one-dimensional riders.

Oh definitely, and I think that was because at the time Vaughters wanted to model his team on USPS and win the TDF.

They write in Poland that Łukasz Wiśniowski may sign with EF for 2022. Makes sense as with Docker retiring, Langeveld getting old and Keukeleire struggling to recover his old form after covid, they need some riders for the cobbled races and most of the transfers reported so far were not this kind of riders.
