100,000? What world are you living in? I think millions are already infected.

By the way: How did you land more than five thousand dislikes? Your constant pessimism, or just a bug?
No idea at all. A bug I suspect.

I’m also not being pessimistic, merely a realist.

It's hard to digest but I think the most probable outcome is no Giro this year. It's hard to imagine that especially the Italians would agree to such a big event with so big crowds for three weeks happening in their country after these terrible pandemic. See ya at Giro 2021 starting from Budapest.

Except I'm pretty sure the agreement for the Giro start in 2021 has already been made.

Desperate times needs desperate measures. Maybe we will witness two Giro d'Italias in 2021. ;)

So, one that follows the 2020 route, and one that follows the 2021 route, and then the winners of each race will have a dance-off?

The Women's Tour, due to take place on June 8-13, has already been cancelled. I'm beginning to get a bit pessimistic about the prospect of any racing at all this year

I know it's egotistical, and I know there are bigger worries in life right now, but in a way watching cycling was my way to not go crazy, not lose my mind...
It's the time when all the comfort of the digital age should make its full sense.
Just reach for the archives and you'll be fine.
And don't forget my instructions.

This is hard. I was very much looking forward to this cycling season which promised to be spectacular:

  • Van der Poel vs. Van Aert vs. DQS in the classics;
  • Evenepoel in the Giro;
  • Ineos vs. Jumbo in the Tour;
  • Olympics and Worlds on hard and selective routes;
...

I hope the virus can get contained as quickly as possible and we can have a rather 'normal' second part of the season but my hopes aren't high anymore.

As long as riding our own bike outside is still allowed I will mentally survive. Is riding the bike still allowed in Italy?

Nice timing for me to get a knee injury preventing me from running or cycling...

At least I don't have to walk now, either, since I have to work from home.

Ofc it is, why why shouldnt it?

But this sucks. I fear a spring/summer without any sports at all, no Giro/Tour, Euros (which already are rumoured to be cancelled or already is), Olympics, NBA etc. I will get depressed maaaan....
