Disappointing and controlled race action. Nice little uphill sprint in the end however.

Congrats to GVA, a really solid rider pretty much all season.

why do they apply the 'group' timing rule on slow uphill finishes? surely all riders should get an individual time, down to 1/100 sec

So they treat this like a flat sprint? It's hardly a 'group'.

Forgive my ignorance, but I just watched the finale of the race on Eurosport and was utterly bemused.

What I saw versus what I heard was utterly different.

Commentators are usually experts, or so I assumed.

Is it different in cycling?

This one seemed to be trying to win a competition for most mistaken strategies, positions, names and results in five minutes.

Is he meant to be taken seriously? Or is it a sly in-joke, a drinking game for those in the know?

Too bad he beat Dumoulin, but besides that really happy for GvA. Likeable rider that always attacks.

Dumoulin looks strong though.

Boom looked awesome on the Kapelmuur, just like he was awesome on it 2 years ago. Too bad it's no longer in the RvV. Such a nice climb.

I was on the Muur final year when Nuyens beat Canc, atmosphere was electric, what struck me was the schoolkids of Geraardsbergen getting myself and my friends to sign a petition begging Flanders Classics to keep the Muur in the race (decision for the following year had already been made obviously),such a shame, you could feel how hurt they were from talking to them.

Money talks. Same as moving the date of Lombardia for Beijing, these organiser clowns should be taken to a field and shot, what next, Roubaix in September around a cobbled circuit of hospitality tents near Arenberg??

This, I hope, will earn you a ban.

Why? I really hope not. Why do people have to take everything so seriously?

Really happy to see GvA get the win today.

Very happy for Greg, great win. And lol at him beating 'leader' Gilbert again

Smart race from Dumoulin, not wasting too much energy early when Boom and the others were. Sucks that Styby wasn't there anymore. Only Dumoulin potentially lacking enoughteam support could cost him the win.

They do the same on HC MTFs...

Absurd. Sometimes i think the UCI are as bad as FIFA in their barmy rules. On a finish like today its just bizarre.

I mean Vanmarke (just as an example) prob finished about 15 secs behind GVA yet he gets +6 for the GC!! Ludicrous
