In some oblique reference to a long-neglected cubbyhole of childhood, I use the agreeably retro BeRo website, instantly filling my kitchen with comely aromas and memories of Bagpuss.
These really do work - they're blokeproof.
You need to modify them slightly for the complex carbs, but baking is actually a more flexible sport than the rigidity of recipes would suggest.

Australian Crunchie (aka The ACF Special) - Add crushed nuts for irrationally spectacular results
Banana teabread (à la Vandevelde) - add more banana to reduce crumbling (a big cycling frustration) but don't slip on the skins.
Granny Loaf - old and shiny, as recommended by RS' own Chris Horner and Levi Leipheimer. add a banana for an extra lift when out of the saddle.
Rice buns (aka Chef Cav's Cookies) - you'll always have an excuse when they don't turn out well but usually they hold together with a big team effort provided that they're properly prepared, only coming apart under severe dental pressure.
Coffee kisses (aka Chiapucci's Crumble-free Cappucinos) - quick energy from a compact shape. I would recommend adding more coffee for an additional, totally legal high, though I'd have to retract the statement immediately after saying it.
Sticky blobs - a favourite of all Lance Lovers - add powdered nuts for staying power when you've no more teammates for support and everything's starting to go wrong.
Bon appetit!
