I'm still disappointed after yesterday so I'm just going to post the route and competitors. Then there's somewhere to discuss the race on the day itself.

Competitors
It's basically Evenepoel vs. Ganna vs. Tarling. I have no clue about the shape of everyone. Obviously Evenepoel is in great shape, but not sure he can make that switch mentally so quickly. Maybe because winning this would mean he has all 4 ITT jerseys in a single season. Hayter is also in great shape.

Remco's travel plans. Not ideal, but he should be safe to make it, and probably be able to do a half-asleep recon on Tuesday.

Pogacar on the other hand already flew home yesterday evening.

Remco had better have a lie flat bed for his return flight

and yes, this TT is far too short. This is a 15 year old TT length

With performing on Wednesday as priority I think it's better to stay one more night in the same hotel after the race like Remco is doing, than traveling straight after the race.

I believe that the recovery in the first 6-12-24 hours after the race is the most important and that you can recover better if you dont go straight to the airport. And after such a long and hard race as yesterday, quality of recovery is the most important thing if you want to perform again on Wednesday. More hours good recovery should be more important than more hours in France preparing for EC. Therefore I think staying one more night in Rwanda is much better for the EC ITT than flying straight after the race.

I find it hard to care much about this one, partially because they've put it in about the worst slot possible, partially because the length is as per usual not remotely worthy of a championship.

That being said, with Evenepoel, Ganna and Tarling all starting with some degree of question marks for different reasons, it's a harder one to call than the Worlds at least.

I think I’d favour Ganna over Tarling to be Remco’s main challenger.

This is what Tarling’s second race back? Probably needs more miles to be in top shape and there is a small climb at the end, albeit short.

Remco is obviously the premier time trialist but there is no doubt his travel plans and fact he raced such a tough race on Sunday is sub optimal prep.

Hasn't it been worse than 24?

For the Euro's, I wouldn't even be mad if it were low 30s so it's ~35 minutes. Emphasize a flat route to attract the top contenders.

I'll be surprised if Evenepoel can compete with Ganna on this one just because doing the WC RR on a very difficult parcours and then traveling for 2 days seems like a poor preperation.

So if he is crap, and cites this as a reason for it, not even I will mock Evenepoel for that.

Not me looking at that profile like "ok so it's a 24 km long circuit, but how many laps is it"

What does this even mean? I've seen it more and more on Twitter lately (in combination with crying emojis).

I'm getting too old for online.

It's kinda like "I can't believe I did this thing" or "doing this thing? couldn't be me, no siree"

Being old is not a barrier to using youngster slang if you don't mind being cringe
