Wiebes seems a perfect fit for this format of the omnium. Got lucky here, and Valente/Wollaston will be hard to beat, but she has a good chance for 2028.

not sure if other nations were doing this or not, but Team GB sent a very youthful development group set of riders to these champs, rather than their top track riders, or with the top tech they bring to Olympics, and Maddie Leach still almost beat Wiebes, in fact probably would have done if Gillespie hadnt elbowed her out the way.

And don't forget Kopecky who also wasn't attending the Euros.
I think Kopecky's omnium record is similar to Dideriksen (who was here), and a level below the very best. Given this was Wiebes first ever major omnium (?) I think she will only improve in her race-making and imo she naturally suits the events better than Kopecky.

Gold for Aagaard in the elimination race. He and LTTTT keeps dominating the event. Jules Hesters had to settle for bronze for the fourth time, while his sister on the other hand came out on top in the scratch race.

So, Denmark got the Men's Team Pursuit World Record back, and pushed it below 3.40.000
It's 3:39.977, so not much below, but still...

Kopecky looks herself again after struggling most of last year. Gold in the Madison with Bossuyt. Happy for her after what she’s been through with the suspension. 33 laps on the attack together, impressive.

Yeah, she's definitely looking good on the track. Now we'll have to see how can carry that form with her to the road (that goes for Bossuyt as well, who we haven't seen in the Spring Classics yet after her return).

I didn't watch the individual pursuit, but I was surprised Kopecky didn't do slightly better there.
Not that I thought she would win or anything, but when they decided to have her start the event I had expected her to be stronger. However, I don't know whether there are any sickness of injury issues in the Belgian camp that made their other options unavailable.

Kopecky said something like she was out of her concentration seeing Josie Knight riding a WR time right before her. And she went out too fast with that in mind and blew up in the end.
