Not if they just wait until the final one or two climbs each day. They're riding against a guy basically without a team. They should have been trying to break the race up from near the start every day.

Short and not so hard stages have often seen the biggest time gaps in GTs in recent years. This was a great opportunity for Movistar to hone their tactics before the Tour. Instead they just waited towards the end of each stage most days and ended up losing out - completely negating the huge advantage they have of a strong team.

True, so i think he should not and probably will not panic. If he cracks completely, however, he can still lose it.
