God forbid we make another Evans thread of which the topic is just plain silly

God forbid you don't come out whining every time someone makes a thread that is anything less than a boot-licking, salivating, wet-dream of a compliment of your hero.

I don't think he will have a "bad day" just a couple of days where he's not able to climb with the riders that he's never in the past been able to climb with. He'll lose time but not enough that it makes the ITT inconsequential to who wins the Tour.

I'm sticking with my theory that he peaked too early, so he should be just about cooked on Stage 18. I'm glad he's done well, though

It'll be the Galibier mtf stage, or a flat tyre in the ITT..

other than that he looks solid. Yesterdays stage was calm for the bunch so hes not suffering from the previous stage today on stage 14.

He had no difficulty on Luz Ardiden either. Basso wont diesel away on 8% slopes (zoncolan/mortirolo), and andy didnt look sparkling. With Contador probably on the defensive the list of bonking-factors are reduced.

TT should play in his favour too :)

Today is gonna be the day
That they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now

Backbeat the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out

I admit, I would be pleasantly surprised if Evans hangs on after today.(I don't want the Schleckies to win)
