AFAIK before the race most were like Pogačar will attack at Cipressa and will win this race. Without that sentiment i doubt Roglič would even participate in this race today.

Now what you are actually blaming Roglič for is on why didn't he cover Mohorič attack. The answer for that is simple. Nobody could do that today. But lets say for the sake of the argument Roglič would manage to do exactly that today. In that case what would happen is he would drop van Aert.
I think if he had covered Mohoric’s attack he would still be in the hospital today today!

Roglstomp would be on his wheel easily, and without a fancy dropper post. :D
Ah yes, of course! The question would not be whether he could follow Mohoric’s speed and line, but how he(or anyone else) would follow Mohoric’s mistake’s  I shudder to think what would have happened if someone was still on his wheel when he lost traction with his rear wheel and then adjusted his line while coming inches from those concrete barriers!

After a healthy dose of Pogstomp now it's time for Roglstomp: that's what the doctor ordered (to Remco).

I was checking the race profile for the 2022 edition & it unfortunately looks devoid of stomp opportunities until the final stage. Unlike last year which featured a TT with a wall finish & stage 3 with a wall finish as well, we'll have to wait until the final 1st cat climb of the final stage before Rog is in his normal hunting ground. So the profile (at first glance) looks good for someone like Evenepoel.

Yup, just checked the profiles too and I'm surprised by the lack of classic muritos close to finishes.

True, but overall it looks like a very good route. Only the ITT should have been double the length.

Not sure how accurete this is, but surely Rogla should be at least in the top 10. Bu then again, he is a modest guy and Jumbo still don't have UAE or INEOS budget.

Their budget would change a bit after someone on the squad wins the Tour. Sagan as a huge fan draw is the outlier in that upper echelon but almost all of the other top 20 guys have shown well publicized success in GTs; specifically in France. It's where the sponsors and broadcast is.
Does he deserve to be in the top 5 wage earners? I think so, but I'm prejudiced by his overall talent that, hopefully will be rewarded by a win in July.

Regarding the contract numbers (& whether they're correct, i.e. the number remains unchanged since his extension last year so we don't know for sure) I'd suggest some performance bonuses are probably not taken into account. Jumbo are also a sort of "family" unit as well with a close-knit environment for their riders (& they're not rich like UAE or Ineos), so raw numbers don't tell the full picture.

He's the best rider to have never won the Tour de France, IMO. His level in 2019, 2020 & 2021 would have been enough to win it in quite a few of the previous editions against the riders who won it at the time. I include Froome in that as well, who I believe at his peak is inferior to peak Roglic (Froome would perhaps match the TT, but would lose mountain sprints against Roglic every time).

Still, I don't think history is written yet & I don't believe the Roglic story is anywhere near over, i.e. that elusive Tour de France win won't define his career (or at least shouldn't) but we do know he's going to go & fight like crazy for it in July. From a spectator's standpoint it's going to be amazing IMO because Roglic won't be interested in another podium, so he'll go all in, tactically as well (a long distance solo attack if necessary).

And that "fight" will also define how people remember him (a bit like Johan Cruyff's Netherland's football team in the 1970's, i.e. win or lose, the performance made them legendary). Roglic can do the same versus Pogacar (who really is at this moment one of the best cyclists in history).

Yeah, this may be the year he turns around his bad luck in France, starting with P-N.
Everyone should want to see Rogla in top form in July. The Slovenian battle could be another one for the ages.

Yes, this could be a great battle and maybe one of the last chances for it: Roglic is not getting any younger and it may turn out that in a few years Pog's advantage over the rest will grow even bigger. Hopefully JV won't block the race like they did in 2020 though: they may want to share this responsibility with UAE this time.
