So Roglic in the next 11 stages has 1 mountain top finish and 1 potential long attack on Finestre to work with. Does anyone remember a worse Giro route than this sh#t?
Last year Pog had Oropa, Prati di Tivo, Mottolino, stage 16, stage 17 and stage 20 to work with. This year's route is an insult.last year. but yeah, it's dogshit.

It's definitely up to him to get it where he can: stages 15,16,19,20 all have profiles that will tax the weak in week three. If Del Toro loses time early UAE will be forced to respond and what that looks like could be interesting. So Roglic in the next 11 stages has 1 mountain top finish and 1 potential long attack on Finestre to work with. If I speak…The new luck merchant?
Finestre doesn't qualify as high altitude to me. Also, not necessarily as hard as the hazallanas double in the heat. We shall see.Roglic struggles in really big mountain stages (at altitude) IMHO. We will see how he will perform in Finestre.
Finestre is a monster. It takes 1 hour to climb. Perfect for a FTP test.Finestre doesn't qualify as high altitude to me. Also, not necessarily as hard as the hazallanas double in the heat. We shall see.
Roglic apparently didn't read all the doomsday internet chatter, he also beefed it in warning up, uninjured but way way more important the guy is not rattled,If he can reach his Vuelta 23/24 level on Finestre he doesn't need any other climb. But that's a big IF. Not to even mention that he needs to defend himself again half the UAE team on a near endless list of stages that are perfect for big breakaways and raids.
This really epitomizes what it feels like being a Roglic fan. Just constantly on the edge of your seat fearing imminent disaster. I feel super anxious even during the most mundane sprint stages. The only time I can relax is on a mountain finish, because I usually feel pretty confident in telling whether he has a good day or not due to many years of Roglawatch.
I like this post, you are saying average Roglic fan is constantly nervous on edge, Primoz is cool character, acts like nothing bothers him, easy smile, Just for good measure he did a pre race crash!!This really epitomizes what it feels like being a Roglic fan. Ended up kinda status quo but the UAE cooperation is showing the predicted signs of individual ambitions. Good job by DelToro to sweep up 2nd, though.Today should show us who are the genuine rivals to PR. We can forget anyone who can't stay with his group on the pelegrino
I don't think so, because that would have incentivised the chase. UAE called the shots, thought Carapaz wasn't worth the effort and the others followed suit. Had Del Toro, however, bridged to Carapaz, the move would have been shut down or else gained only a few secs by the line.If del Toro would have gone with Carapaz (which he claearly could have done) there would have been a big time gap.
Primoz is always out of position when the tempo goes up, doesn't sprint or stomp so it doesn't look good. I don't think he's playing poker here the form is just not there (yet). A few days to go till the big mountains come more regulary so there's some time for a form peak...but it won't be easy against UAE und quite a lot of other guys still in contention. Besides del toro Carapaz, Tiberi and Bernal also look quite good.
