It's a weird situation anyway, with such an absurdly overwhelming favorite. Nearly all the standard cycling wisdom can go right out the window.

Basically unless Roglic is alone there's not a single group Roglic can get away in in which he is more of a favorite than Pogacar.
It could also net an outcome like Australia where a strong rider is allowed too much freedom. There are plenty of candidates willing to attempt the home run with little downside to failure.

It's almost like that Home Alone series.

On a more serious note, Rogla tends to perform good at such exotic locations. In terms of adaptation to climate and similar. So although Slovenia is going mainly to support Pogi i feel that Rogla has a shot. Plus it depends on how other nations will undertake the race and similar. Rogla and his presence alone are hence enough for having hope and it's not like we are talking about world peace here, it's a cycling race and Rogla is rather good at doing that.

Whole peloton about to switch to short socks. Will be Rogla's real legacy.

So ultimately something needed to be sacrificed, that is on why a decision was made not to do the TT, as being in good health was a priority and body needed the rest after the Tour. In Sierra Nevada training conditions are great, a block of training in the legs. Rogla eager to put on the green jersey and join the national team.

I love the translated titles of the articles below

"Primož Roglič is once again diligently accumulating kilometers on his bike"

"Lora to Primož: ''What the *** are you?"

So first of all overall you need to be a good climber and there are some short and steep climbs in it, route is rather technical, Rogla likes cobbles too. Rather perfect for Rogla.

How I’m projecting the odds of Roglic featuring in this race:

25% anonymous and outside the top 15
25% anonymous and finishing 5-15
25% features in some sort of move that is briefly exciting but goes nowhere
10% in the mix for the sprint behind the breakaway rider(s) (Pog/Remco) after riding smartly and conservatively, possibly nabbing a podium but probably out sprinted by someone that will make me angry, like Ayuso
10% plays a visible role in helping Pogi, then drops off, unclear if he could have done better or not, something we will debate from entrenched viewpoints along the usual lines
5% wins

The goal: not to disturb Tadej and reaching the finish. "Not get in his way" means "not pulling" surely:

"the way Tadej has been flying recently, we just need to give him space and not get in his way. For the rest of us, even reaching the finish will be a big fight."

Some legendary quote as well:

"I’ll only spend three nights there, which means minimal risk. I need to be there and give my best, for myself and for the team. I’ve already spoken to people in Kigali – they seem healthy, normal, and they even have internet"

I am dying here. Did he really said that? Probably more like: "They even have internet there, ehh." :D
