I doubt that Rogla will be competitive in WC RR. RR is cca. 270 km long and I think that kind of stage doesn't suit him well due to sheer length. He will be a super domestique for Pogacar.

Yet since then he wasn't that good in long races. He tried multiple times to win Lombardia but he misses that final kick that he has in short races.

Why? Slovenia has two spots for ITT, but Pogi decided we won't race.

But Roglic will have no specific prep for the Worlds, and he's not naturally good at 250km+ races, so it's not gonna be easy at all.

Thanks. Don’t see him as a favorite but as a fan it’s nice to have another top rider competing who might shape the race dynamic. Maybe the team will suggest he should be the one to shadow Evenepoel if the latter tries to go solo early. I can just imagine the ruckus in the Remco thread if that were the case

It's not about negotiating spots. It's that I'm more sceptical Roglic would solely come to the Worlds to not do the ITT and then ride the RR solely in service of Pog.

I also think the TT is Roglic' better chance of a medal for himself.

Was this stated by the coach or is it your intepretation? I was reading the transcription, looking for hints (who they would focus on in RR) but was unable to find any. It appeared to me they would both be leaders in RR, but I'm not sure I had the entire interview, though...

Since he stated Rogla will have TT specific training I interpreted that Pog is "the man" for RR and Rogla will be there as a dark horse.

That's just your interpretation, Murn never said that.
