For me it's rather simple answer to that, it's the Belgium sports media, i don't trust them. Remco signing for RBH, that only further cements my stance. Rest assured that they will prove my point.
This is about the WC selections, not about TDF, not about who is riding where for RBH... You are paranoid at the moment.

With how Roglic doesn't really announce races well in advance it could simply be that the national manager wanted to know if Roglic was going first, put him on the team sheet, and whether or not he races the ITT is confirmed later.

Not sure if Velo guys live in the same reality as us. Super support from Roglic :tearsofjoy: Due to tactical reasons Primoz could turn out to be a threat to Pog's gold but I don't think the Slovenian coach will have enough authority to prevent Pog from a counter-attack. It could get quite chaotic out there.

There's also no reason for him to play domestique for Pogacar. Just like WVA also isn't a domestique for Evenepoel if he rides races that suit him.

I never said Roglic must be a domestique. Simply the title is totally wrong. Obviously Pogacar is a heavy favourite and it's logical to work for the strongest guy but I get that Roglic will have some freedom due to his quality, otherwise he wouldn't even bother to go to Africa.

If you specifically go for the TT then the road race can just be an afterthought where you go until the big climb, smash that and then go off to the pub

In a logical world, Roglic should be a domestique for the hot favorite in Rwanda. He is such a big favorite that we know Pogacar will win if the break is under 2' with 70 km to the finish.

Break under 2 minutes at 70k to go? More like 5 minutes.

Pogacar doesn't need Roglic at all. It's quite literally better to use Roglic as an anchor in G2 than as a domestique setting the pace.

I never said that you said Roglic should be a domestique. The article is saying Roglic should ride in support. I'm saying Roglic can ride his own race.

National teams circumstances are different to normal WT racing. The coach can't force Roglic to do anything (or even to arrive to Rwanda). If Roglic wants a free role and the coach thinks it's better to have him than not then it's like that. It's possible that Roglic will actually target the TT (and won't kill himself in the RR) but it's not revealed yet.

The break will obviously be stronger than you think.

Roglic said his next race will be the WCRR. So no TT

Yeah. Roglic is a solid anchor if fit. It happens very rarely that people reel Pogi back in after an early attack, but the prospect of loosing the sprint to Rogla should discourage guys like Remco and Skjelmose from an Amstel repeat… in the off chance that will even be a possibility.

And yeah I don’t think you’ll motivate Rogla to go just to give a suicide pull ahead of a pogi attack with 70 k to go. But you never know he might reckon it’ll be good for his popularity back home.

I don't think motivating Roglic to be a domestique is impossible if it's not his main season target and he doesn't have to spend half the year at altitude. He'll probably prepare for this race the best he can, but if he doesn't feel good, he will just work for Pogacar.

Roglic not caring also leads to him not caring about 7th place in a way.

They also didn't see Zurich because Roglic pulled 50 meters :tearsofjoy: .

This year he's clearly said he's coming to win the World Championships. Last year he didn't say anything and threw 50 meters, so it's clear he won't be domestique.

Pogacar will be without a team. He'll only have Novak.

I was surprised last year in Zurich how helpful Rogla was. I expected less.

Did you think he would fully chase his own 10th place because his status affords that or or were you fully into the "Roglic and Pogacar hate each other" plotline.

Hahaha, you don't need to worry about that at all :tearsofjoy:

Former. Or more a role like Tratnik's where he'd follow some of the early moves.

Rogla will join attackers. No country would like him at the front so all will chase and Pogi can just follow wheels until he attacks.

Why would Rogla be considered a threat? It's a national team and as long as we get a World RR champion out of it, mission accomplished. If we don't then considering the strength it should be perceived as a failure. On who gets it, that is less important.
