They also didn't see Zurich because Roglic pulled 50 meters :tearsofjoy: .

This year he's clearly said he's coming to win the World Championships. Last year he didn't say anything and threw 50 meters, so it's clear he won't be domestique.

Pogacar will be without a team. He'll only have Novak.

They are on the same team and hence saying they don't have a strong team, they do. The goal is to win it.

Some provisional information from KZS, official schedule to be announced till September 16. All info is still subject to change.

Road race:

Tadej Pogačar, Primož Roglič, Matej Mohorič, Jan Tratnik, Domen Novak, Luka Mezgec, Matevž Govekar, Gal Glivar, Matic Žumer.

Time trial:

Pogačar likely but not yet officially confirmed, Roglič unknown. Replacement won't happen, so either Rogla and Pogi fill two available places or Slovenia to compete with less riders.

Tratnik is going?

Would be pretty stange to move teams considering his comments have pretty much been suggesting he does the final year and then retires. He should be too expensive to buy out, maybe Bora will let him go for free considering they have shiny new toys, but I also wonder why Roglic would move teams for a single year.

To me the most logical teams are probably Ineos and Bahrain.

Rogla currently training is more factual, as for the rest you never know. If there is interest involved one can i guess listen, for being able to make an inform decision after. The idea Rogla will finish his career at the end of 2026 season is not set in stone either. As for the article, what it basically says is there is interest, from multiple teams to sign Rogla.

Thijs Zonnerveld says from what he's heard around the peloton, teams believe Rog is on his way out of Red Bull:

I understand that he prefers to be the sole leader for some races at a different team than having to share it. Disappointing though, would’ve thought that with age he would become more of a team player.

Why would he waste his final years racing as a domestique if he doesn't absolutely have to?

He has worked as a domestique on plenty of occasions when the racing situation worked out like that. But to spend an entire year to have your biggest target be as a helper is something entirely different, and no top rider settles for that.

It could simply be that his agent is just casually shopping around to see if any other teams show real interest, it doesn't really seem like he's currently forcing a move. But Bora are putting themselves into this position buy paying big money for a GC leader on a 3 year contract only to buy another one of such level only 2 years later.

If you actually read the article to the end, what it says in the gist of it is several teams wouldn't mind if Rogla would be prepared to switch teams, as they are interested in signing him. They are even prepared to wait a bit, to postpone other signings, just in case Rogla decides to leave RBH.

To be honest i could have told you that.

Why would he be a helper. He is probably good enough to still lead. Problem I’m seeing is that he doesn’t want to help others if the race decides it.

JV taught him there is no "team" when they had a transitional agenda. After that and the move to RBH he's earned the right to have all support plans on the table.
If he flounders as a GT leader and someone else becomes the GC favorite during the race; IMO he'd pragmatically accept it. Going forward he'll have to that as fact: next season is another year older for him.

He did the Tour undercooked after the Giro's crash and illness. It was less-than-ideal preparation and whatever we saw on the road was only the tip of the iceberg because they literally fired both sports directors barely a week after the race.

So who knows what's really going on behind the scenes. I doubt Zonnerveld would have gotten this type of vibes from teams and the peloton if Rog wasn't considering it though.

It could be that they tried to reneg on some agreements from before the Tour during it when it turned out Lipowitz was as good as he was, but I kinda doubt it, as Roglic still got to do his own thing in the Alps.

Really the main driver seems to be Evenepoel coming in with his crony becoming the director of the team. He probably knows the way the wind is blowing.

To me if you want to race the TdF, getting out makes sense. If you're okay going Giro/Vuelta, I would stick around.

They are putting all eggs on Remco, a questionable/unreliable GC rider. I fear Bora will be disappointed next year in GTs.
