I don't know, but the first proper attack would probably not have decided the GC winner.
Right, in which case Roglic would be sitting as top performing GC rider in ITT and likely have stumped the competition yesterday, possibly to a stage win, though possibly still behind Skjelmose, and he’d be leading in GC despite riding against Del Toro, Ayuso, and Lipowitz. That would look massively different than getting destroyed by Seixas, no?

I simply doubt yesterday's stage would have finished the exact same way if they had been fighting for the stage and GC wins, but we'll never know.

Of course not. I just think the most likely scenario would be that no one drops Roglic, that group climbs even slower, and Roglic has even more of a punch. That group still beat the 2021 Itzulia times by a minute, so they weren’t that slow. It’s clear Ayuso and Del Toro didn’t have anything more, so are you thinking Lipowitz would have attacked away from Roglic? Skjelmose?

Again I don't know, but I assume they would be much more motivated when racing for the victory. Skjelmose and Lipowitz both seemed to hurt themselves while trying to somewhat match Seixas, but they wouldn't have had to ride as fast to drop the rest of them. Of course without Seixas, the attacks could also have started later, meaning an even bigger group could have been together at the end.

At 1km from the top he closed Del Toro down quite easily. He likes moving himself to the back of the group while his teammate attacks, but I think he put himself a little too far back just before the split yesterday. Roglic doesn't normally go from being dropped to then looking much better at the finish.

Racing so far is a nice indicator of rising form but said that Rogla won't settle with anything else then winning this race. So it doesn't matter on who is in this race or not the goal remains the same.

Non existing support on the ultimate climbs, that is something missing at RBH, no composure as team. Beyond that it seems that the form is rising and i'll take that.

He didn't need his team. He just needed to be better

Yeah, it is what it is, this is i guess the RBH way. Then at least put all 4 in the team next time. For it to have any chance of succeeding. Attack early and attack often with your leaders. Force response. One will eventually win. It doesn't seem that support in classical sense is on the table.

When they are up against Seixas, in form Toro, Jonas or Pogi, it doesn't matter how much they attack.

Indeed, Roglic should have attacked, but he went for his own podium place instead of trying to break Seixas and help Lipo get away
