Evolution of Armstrong's talking points or the last retreat of his fanboys ?

We have all witnessed Armstrong's PR machine spewing out their talking points on a daily basis for months and years. Pick your favorite flavor of the day.

Witch Hunt has to be # 1 on any chart
Never tested positive
Tested over 500 times
Most tested athlete in history
No due process
Kangaroo court
Vendetta
Spanish inquisition
Does so much for cancer research
blah blah blah

But lately I have been noticing a change or perhaps an evolution. We all remember the old chestnut of something like "Everybody else was doping also so it was a level playing field and he beat them all"

Lately I have noticed that this has kindof evolved into something more like
"Well - everybody else was doping so he is no worse than anybody else."

Which has more recently morphed into "Lance isn't any worse than the other cheaters. Why aren't you going after them too"

Anybody else notice this lately ? What say you.

Orchestrated PR evolution or the last retreat of his fanboys.

Here's what I would ask the Lance fanboys: If you can freely admit that he doped, why do you accept his lies? Why doesn't Lance, the hero, confess and admit to everything?

Anyhow, what a farce this has become. Lance just keeps on lying-denying-smiling, and his followers just keep on swallowing his turds whole.

lies damned lies

what gets me is that accusors of lance are discredited by being called liars

yet lance's own lies are accepted by fanboys ( 500 Tests , coming back riding for free etc )

recently i heard lance described as philanthropist.............have i missed something........that would suggest that lance is donating

not just encouraging others to donate to further his own ambitions

fanboys don't have much to hold on to.............even lance is in full retreat

The fanboys are in a state of denial of the facts. While others may me unaware of the facts. The only common interest they share is to prepetuate a myth.

Legendary athlete and 7 time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong visited San Diego Sunday to compete in the annual SuperFrog Triathlon at Silver Strand State Beach.

Lance Armstrong (USA) has taken victory in the Superfrog Triathlon Coronado Island in San Diego (California) and has set a new record with 3h:49s. Despite the witch hunt by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) Armstrong showed his 41 years.

Unfortunately, not all who use this defense are fanboys. I'd say a good % of them are simply uninformed fans of the sport.

Or they don't really care. I'm afraid that, to 99% of the population, Lance Armstrong will always be Tour de France winner and Cancer Boy. And if there is a shift in the PR, it will be swallowed whole by the populace, with a shrug of the shoulders and a SFW?

I liked this headline better:

Under-fire Armstrong wins first triathlon race since being given lifetime sports ban

There should be a sub-heading: Navy Seals Discredit Themselves...

Fixed. That quote is one of my favorites, but you have to go the full nine yards with it and quote it accurately.

Otherwise, the fanboys might try and argue there is a positive in there somewhere.

Dave.

Oh ghod, that article....I'm guessing polish is just beside himself with all those half naked pics of lance..
A bit too much for me...especially his salute coming across the finish line...excuse me while I go bleach my eyes and mind.

Wow- I knew they stripped Lance of all his results but it's a bit gross to strip him for real.

The competition looked good on the bike. Think he passed a guy with toe straps and trainers!

Is that what Lance has lowered himself to, riding past overweight 50yr olds and then celebrating crossing the finish line first? Wow, how self-abusive and embarrassing.

I have an idea for Lance, try riding a Cat III race on the 15th of Oct in hopes of deflecting attention away from the USADA news.

From the you tube caption:
Events sanctioned by bodies governed by the WADA code are very strict and by the book with zero tolerance for any sort of misinterpretation, so to speak. Therefore, Lance Armstrong was left no choice but to race in local, regional, national and international races with grass roots efforts. This is cool because a lot of our national local races need support and community efforts.

WTF! Did Gree write this ****?

Good to see there is a "silver lining" in all of this.

You gotta wonder how a 40-year-old triathlete competing honestly on paniagua feels about Lance Edgar Armstrong.

Armstrong can bump his EPO to stroke-level hcts in these minor events and wow his fanboys.

That's it exactly. I posted the turnout in the "Why is Wonderboy Still Racing" thread. +/- 500 participants the calibre of which you capture well. Meanwhile anyone serious about this triathlon racing over the weekend was in L.A. for the WADA sanctioned event.
