click on 'pick riders' and you can remove riders and can replace them. Hang on though it looks like its closed to transfers till tommorow..

"transfer windows open at 6pm after the previous stage finish (midnight for the TTT) and close at 11am on the day of the stage. You may make two transfers per stage. You may only transfer like for like, for example a GC rider for another GC rider, and your budget remains the same.

On rest days you can make up to four transfers."

Cheers

That explains why I can't do it.

I did the road.cc for the tour and got annoyed after a week and gave up.. I dont have the time, or the memory to log on every day and switch riders around, and thats the only way to get any reasonable points haul. Or else i would..

How do you edit your team? I set it a few days ago and now I can't find it and see how I can change riders.

It looks like the transfer window that is supposed to kick in AFTER each stage has kicked in today, BEFORE the actual Vuelta start.

According to the rules:

You get to pick your fantasy team consisting of 9 riders and you can make substitutions right up until 8pm on Saturday 28 August.

Which you can't.

Thought it was a great idea, had not much time until today, so figured I would wait with entering one until I had time. Just set up a team, and then it rejected all my picks and told me to wait until the transfer window opens tomorrow. When I can pick 2 I guess. Pointless.

So I'm in that list without riders. Ah well. How French.

Those that got an actual squad at the starting line: have fun. :)

Its not all bad, you've gone one better than Radioshack with being on the start line. your starting lineup sounds like a typical BMC team when Evans doesn't ride. ;)

I entered because the winner gets a bike, the game looks dysfunctional though and transfers are dumb for a bike race.

It's a game, it's not supposed to be realistic. You can do transfers and you're penalized if you have solid domestiques who don't achieve anything for themselves. No big deal.

Wow, they have already updated the scores. Unlike that tdf game which took ages.

Thanks. It even let me parachute in after that 8pm deadline. Just 18 of us, 3 with the same "no riders" problem as I had?

Didnt do you much harm, your second

I'm wondering what happens to any unused credits after you do the transfers for a stage, I hope they don't disappear into thin air. Having the value of the riders change between stages could make things more complicated.

No you keep 'em for future use.

FYI, there seems to be a glitch in their score/team update for stage 2, and they asked not to make changes in your team until they had sorted it (but before 11am), and if you did it before 10pm, to get in touch with them.

Changes in value don't seem to be too big. But yes, it seems that keeping a few credits to spend on the planned swap-out for the day after might be good advise, as marginal gains or losses on the day can make a big difference if you are living on the edge.

I managed to replace Nibali with LL Sanchez in time for today. But I dropped alarmingly yesterday because my main sprinter Haedo was rubbish.

I had Bos on my list the other day as a good chance to pick up some decent points in the predictable sprint. He crashed in the run-up and was probably spent. Sigh. Dumped him as my cash-cow for the day (for a good price), so with a bit of luck he's rubbish for a few days, so can snap him up later for a bit less!

Sacked Farrar for a few days too. I've got Van Avermeat moonlighting instead. A decent chance for some points and as cheap as it comes.

This micro-fiddling is quite interesting. Kinda getting a team set up so it makes reasonable sense for the day, but at the same time making sure it can be adjusted legally for two or three days ahead too. Credits permitting.

I can see some wholesale changes coming up after stage 4.

Stage 4
1 Igor anton - my climber
2 Vincenzo Nibali - my gc guy
3 Joaquim Rodriguez - my all rounder.

And i still get less points than those who have all those top teners, or than people with Gilbert, who gets loads of points every day for holding red.

Goddamn Sastre forced me to get rid of him, goodbye to my potentially best investment, I had to go for Nibali before his price skyrocketed, and that means I couldn't do the trades necessary to be able to afford Farrar for tomorrow's stage. I hope my less than stellar sprinters can net me an equivalent amount of points, or that Van Avermaet feels like sprinting again all of sudden.

replacing Nibali with LL Sanchez a couple of days back wasn't the brightest thing i've ever done..

My team will take a hit today but maybe Van Avermaet can pull something off.

I've stuck with my original bar one transfer.
I had John-Lee Augustyn, he dropped out so replaced him with Christophe Le Mevel.

To much mucking around doing transfers for each stage etc.

My Original selection was to get maximum points from the TTT, I had to change riders because the team would of bombed after that and I originally entered the thing in the unlikely chance of winning and getting a bike for a prize. ;)

Its looking unlikely I can win this now, but i got through 4 sprint stages in reasonable position without a top line sprinter so I'm a bit surprised to be position 26 out of 850 entries..

Doing OK, I had Anton, Rodriguez, Van Garderen from the start, I changed a few riders and got Gilbert in very quickly because he was going like a train, and non obvious riders like David Lopez and he did well.

Some of the entrees on the main classification above me are multiple entrees from one person so its difficult to make up the points difference to win the thing and the bike.
****em.

10th in the purists out of over 200. Ryagas is 3rd but he got lots of points from Gilbert whos points scoring days are over, while im just starting to reap the rewards of Igor Anton.

Aye, I think you said in one of the threads that you missed a chance to swop out, but I hoped you wouldn't, and just keep your purist team going. It's the only league that "matters" anyway!

I'm not doing too bad. Messed up one day when I couldn't swap riders because a bug got the better of me, missed Gilbert, which had a knock-on effect for another stage too. Back on track now, so I can only blame myself if I bomb from here on in :D
