That would be a good start for the team. I would add some international riders that could get them wins in smaller 2.1, 1.1 races which always help the morale.

Have degenkolb and Kittel resigned with Argos? To fill the other half of your team secure one of those two and then get some domestiques for them. Instant top 10 WT team.

Seems like a good shout for LLS.

Red with yellow accents would make a nice kit.

Going to be a GT team I guess.

Could do with hiring some leaders as 2014 Samu + Anton =/= a WT team.

He seems to have a bit of passion for the sport. I'm sure I've read before that he is friendly with others in the Spanish contingent

He stopped by in the giro a few years ago to present Arroyo the pink on Kronplatz.

Not f1s biggest fan me but i like this guy now. Hope to see him again on the podium of a gt in the future, this time as team owner:)

Tinkov is a bit of a prat but the coolest thing he did was register himself as a rider when he bought the team and did a few smaller races.

I don't think Alonso would have anything to lose. Apparently he has kept up with Caisse on some of their training rides in the past. If I were him I'd do a few stages of San Luis :)

I thought the same but maybe the ones that pay him to drive cars won't feel happy with him riding bike races with the risk of crashing.

really? he already rides so has that risk - of low speed crashes and losing some skin or breaking a bone or two... as opposed to the 200kmh+ crashes he may be involved with in F1

Ask Mark Webber. He broke multiple bones in a bike crash. A year later he was summersaulted with 150mph and he didn't have a scratch. F1 cars are seriously safe, I think safer than riding in a bike race, certainly for minor injury risks.

true, but then comes Ratzenberger and Senna... Montoya's incident was pretty close too.

Those are all years ago, safetly has improved a lot over the years. It sure is a lot safer to go 200 km/h in a F1 car than going 30 km/h on a bike.

I think pro cycling is more dangerous, especially if you dont have the top bike handling skills. In f1 there are often those big spaces between the road and the wall and also tyres to soften the impact. In cycling no one is going to soften the walls for 200km. There's also far more scope for crashing with 200 others around you and there's the issue of falling of your bike as unlike a car it's not something that stands up on its own.

This is the huge PR. Alonso in cycling can bring so many fans but above all sponzors back to cycling. Go Alonso go.

not really and also cycling has so many fans already

Since cycling is rather more accessible to the audience than F1 is I'd say thou are right, but Alonso could contribute on the commercial side of the sport on a new level if i is really comitted to the project.

In the past year(s) cycling lost a lot of cycling fans and those people who follow car racing have a bad opinion of cyclists and cycling in general so i do agree that he will bring some unusual spectators.
