What are you talking about?

Matuidi tackle was horrible. Sakho and Giroud should have been sent off earlier in the tournament cause they were using their elbows as a weapon. And the moment of Pogba in the match against Honduras with Palacios was obviously a red card.

Actually it wasn't sarcasm. I really don't believe these "in benefit of the doubt" claims are detectable for the observer. The funniest thing about it is that people almost only bring it up when it actually was offside, not when it wasn't. Close offside decisions are simply close decisions. They are nothing that should be discussed at all.

And I am not cherry picking, I know that you also have comments that approve. It's just that you use any chance you get to either complain on a sensefull basis or simply construct something so you can complain.

I have not constructed anything. All I am guilty of is that I sometimes may make things bigger than they are. I would agree on that.
But my complaining and approving posts always have a basis and are reasoned. I am not writing novels.

Close desisions should be discussed and be questioned until either
a.) available tech is used in-game (not only on goals/non-goals, but especially on offsides or not), or
b.) neantherthals rules are terminated, since they can´t be applied with consistency, fairness and correctness in todays fast games.

Since both won´t happen until Blatter and gang is washed away, soccer outcomes will always have a major ref influence, which soccer wasn´t meant to be like.

The outcome of Matuidi's tackle was horrible, the tackle itself was yellow, but nothing more imo.

Hope tonight Schweinsteiger plays and not that guy who can´t hit a open goal, but criticising team-mates when he warms the bench.

Not that Germany would lose either way... It´s just not in the script. They can lose against anybody, but not a 2nd tier team. It would be the biggest shame ever.

GER 2 (hope Klose breaks the record tonight, at least with a joker goal), ALG 1 (Madjer off the bench ;))

Especially in the replay you can see it was a clear red card. If this is not worth a red one...., nothing is.

Well apart from goal line technology we should introduce brain scans to see whether tackles were on purpose.

It does not matter if it's on purpose (in this case). Such a tackle is always red. Always.

If two players go for a ball in the air, one misses and by chance headbutts the other (as we see so often), does he also deserve a red card?
This was a challenge, he misses the ball and catches the other player awkwardly on the ankle. Yellow card, but not red.

I have seen soft touch "fouls" in this tournament that got red carded and/or penalized with a penalty kick.
But this Matudi foul was a true one. A cheap shot. Since there is this red card rule, it´s clear he should have been sent off.
Clearly the ref cost the game for the underdog NIG.
Play-off count; 2 "big" countries came away with the help of refs. It wasn´t the last ones. That´s for sure...

That's not a comparable situation. Here he takes the risk to injure an opponent. You don't make a move like that to get the ball. He goes with his cleats (?) to the front, risking the health of his opponent. Purpose doesn't matter here. There's not a lot to discuss.

If you wanna challenge the ball you don't try to squeeze it. You can't challenge like that, no matter your intentions. The red card was obvious.

Just because there was no malicious intent, doesn't mean it shouldn't be red.

Shawcross and Martin Taylor didn't intentionally go out to hurt someone in their tackles but still deserved red.

Algeria could easily have been in the lead by now (27th min.) Fingers crossed for a shock, not that I really believe in their chances.....two walkabouts by Neuer already....

I never expected a 1st half like that, Algeria really taking the game to Germany and exposing the Germans lack of pace at the back. They just need to show some composure in the box as they cannot let Germany off the hook for much longer.

Was waiting for this a long time:
COMPLAIN alert @ Rechtschreibfehler

Löw, Löw, and only Löw is to blame if GER loses.
Bring the phucking Klose. He doesn´t need 20 shots for zero Goals like GER has now. He is the sniper, needing max 4 chances for a goal.
I am not payed x-million, but I know this.
Löw this xxx doesn´t know it. What a xxx :mad::mad:

That was a very good 0-0! Also a contender for the funniest free-kick routine around with Muller falling over, If Algeria could have found that correct pass in Germany's half they would have won that, so many times they got into good positions only to lose composure, although Germany had some great chances near the end.
