Yes, but notorious cobble artists Van der Poel and Van Aert had a combined 3 flats between them as well today.

Mostly I wonder how much room for improvement there is in this by training it more
Pretty sure that Van der Poel had never had a flat at this race before today, it just goes to show how weird random distribution can get that it then happened twice on the same sector in the same year.

He had nothing happen in 2023-2025 but I forget if he didn't have some pretty critical mechanicals before that.

Do we consider not racing Roubaix before 2021 a mechanical in the managment room?

Corendon weren't invited in 2019, so the mechanical is in the ASO management room.

He can't ride on the cobbles. He was always at the back of the group.
He's kind of bad at fighting for position before the sectors, he often ends up at the end of the bunch entering the sectors (like Arenberg today). Too heavy for the cobbles is bs IMO, if a 90kg guy like Walscheid has his best cobbles results in Roubaix you don't have that excuse. Also, wasn't Magnus Bäckstedt +90kg too. Being a bigger guy should help your body absorb the wear and tear of the Roubaix cobbles better, even if people try to make it overall easier with wider tires.

He doesn't seem to have the endurance too.
