Rode on the 2010 Aussie Nat's XC course yesterday and am F****** ****ed at the number of empty gel packets left on the track. Seriously, the offenders should get two year bans from the sport and be forced to ride a Huffy for three seasons after their ban expires.

If you know you've dumped an empty gel packet during a race go back and pick it up after you've finished, lazy fudge packers.

:( Same goes for the roadies ..... crap everywhere after the TDU challenge ride.

What is wrong with some people ... assume that the suspension crew would be more in tune with there surroundings given that they are more a part of the environment when riding - so to speak !:eek:

Agreed it would be best if riders pocket their packets but event organisers who particularly for mass participation events like the TDU Community Tour make large management fees should also accept some responsibility & pay for course sweepers to clean the road after the event has passed.

Agree ... thats a whole other story re TDU cost/profit.

The Gel packets of which I am addicted too - refer another post - go straight in the jersey pocket - bloody sticky things but better there than dumped on the tarmac.

Not sure that the guy i saw riding in the pink budgy smugglers in this years TDU would have much choice other to dump the packet on the ground though.

:eek::eek:

The race organizers around Breckenridge CO, be it the local series or the several bigger races mak it very clear that if you get caught littering the race course you will be DQd. Considering the amount of race traffic we the area get's there's not a lot of litter. Education and clear threats go a long way .
