Yes, I think pro athletes using GLP-1 drugs to improve performance should be discussed in the clinic. Although I believe the next generation of these drugs that do not produce muscle wasting will be more likely candidates for abuse. The ITA reports that a sample collected during an intelligence-led testing mission conducted by the ITA during the 2026 UAE Tour Women on 5 February 2026 from Linda Laporta, a cyclist from Italy, has returned an AAF¹ for the enobosarm (ostarine).

The substance is listed under class S1.2 Other Anabolic Agents according to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List. It is prohibited at all times (in- and out-of-competition) and is classified as non-specified substance. Ostarine has been shown to increase lean body mass and promote muscle growth.

Thanks to the coordination of authorities, in June 2025, 16 house searches and searches of other premises carried out across the Czech Republic led to the discovery of 60 000 commercial packages of anabolic steroids. 10 suspects were detained and property worth over EUR 150 000 was confiscated. In February of this year an additional 4 suspects were detained. It is estimated that the criminal network generated over EUR 400 000 through the illegal distribution of these medical substances. ...Criminal proceedings are currently underway in Poland with the aim of apprehending other members of the international criminal group.
