He wouldn't fit at all. He likes to do things his own way and that's not how things run at Rabobank. Please, please, don't go there.
Freire? Menchov? Those guys didn't give a sh.t about the team discipline.

Not to mention Rasmussen, but let's not go there ;)

It's not easy and Cav will have to fight hard to keep with the best on the hills. If he survives he will win but it will be tough for him. That small hill before the final will also tire him a bit. It's going be a big challenge.

You didn't really just paste that from PCM, did you? A profile like that is pointless without a scale.

I really doubt it. There are only 5 British riders to help Cav and they will be prone to attacks. It's possible but I think people over-rate Cav's chances at Olmypics.

Yeah, but there are other countries/riders they can pay off-the-record to reel in the break. Also, the Brits aren't the only ones who will ride for a sprint.

Looking at this profile, Box Hill looks like the Mur de Huy..

What's the distance between the last time up Box Hill and the finish line?

You might be right about those. Still, why go to a team where they have 3 GT leaders plus Kelderman? Dutch riders will always get priority.

Saxo Bank and Garmin would fit best, I believe. Since they haven't shown any interest, maybe Astana would be the best option. Although they do have the surplus of GT leaders as well. Especially if Nibali joins them.

Pity it's not PCM :p Only Gilbert/Cancellara/Boonen could win.

In the test last year Cavendish was dropped the 3rd time up Box Hill, wasn't he? Ok, he wasn't in his best shape, but the competition wasn't that hard either. If the other teams want to win then they can easily drop Cavendish early. Unfortunately, there's a good chance that everyone will just watch each other and no one will try to make it into an actual race.

Which other teams would want a sprint?
Germany, ok. But I don't see sprinters in other countries that could beat Cavendish in a straight sprint after a semi hard race?

Australia.

Besides, keep in mind that a silver or bronze medal is a prize at the Olympics as well. You'll probably get the Haedo's working for a sprint and lots of other 2nd and 3rd tier sprinters.

There are lots of countries who would want a reduced bunch sprint, i.e Belgium (Boonen), Italy (Bennati), Norway (EBH), Spain (Freire) etc. All those countries will have a decent chance of winning as long as Cavendish is dropped, so they should do all they can to make sure that he is.

Taaramäe named some of the teams that are interested in him: Astana, Rabobank, Radioshack, Ag2r, Katjuša. Said that he will make his decision after the TdF

If Taaramae left Cofidis i would assume Cofidis would then fold right?

There was (still is?) talk of potential merger of teams in France. Not sure if Cofidis is one of them though.

Katusha is a good option for Rein. I think Menchov will retire after 2013

I think Spilak might be their future GT rider anyway. At least we might get a glimpse of what he's capable of in a GT this year

I've heard about a merger between Lotto and Cofidis, but Éric Boyer denied it.

The Norwegian team for the Olympics: EBH, Thor Hushovd, Alexander Kristoff, and Lars Petter Nordhaug. EBH will also do the TT.

The article said nothing about the captain role. Imo it should be Edvald.

Edit: The riders have chosen Thor for "road captain", but the manager says that it is to early say who they will be riding for in the race.

Kristoff and Nordhaug have outperfomed both this season, whilst the course doesnt suit Nordhaug it does Kristoff......
