Last year he said he wanted to see how giro gc went. Me being me, I automatically thought- he's gonna ramp up the doping programme.

It didn't happen then but when I saw him on galibier it became clear that was just a temporary setback.

We've this story before with il killer and scarponi, and when I saw him on galibier anr then the not to shabby solo escape on 17 I already thought - giro 2014 overall.

Hell if they didn't cancel Val senales he may have gone all sella on us.

that is why I am confident Moviestar can do some heavy damage to SKY team in the Tour this year. Last year they were totally unprepared.

He was already 10th or something at Lagunas de Neila last year. May not be much but still better than anything previously? Will never be a climber, but can certainly climb.

Stef Clement was always a decent climber since his youth, just not enough to be a leader ever. This Dauphine was one of the few races the past years where he had a free role. A few years back he was 5th in Castilla y Leon also climbing with the best.
Though he can usually only do that 1/2 days max and preferably on not so steep climbs

Interesting Visconti's response to the press during the Giro. Outraged at being asked doping questions like the good ol' days then realises the game has changed and adopts the 'I understand but it hurts me so' approach of the new 'currently doping, previously busted, currently denying' breed of doped cyclist.

Chapeau there Visconti. I always find anti-doping hyperbole is best presented right after a quick display of outrage at the suggestion you're once again ball(s) deep in the cookie jar.

Not comparable

I think if you check Visconti's results more thoroughly then you'll see that he has climbed well on several occasions too. Mostly in short one day races, but also some stage races such as Tour of Oman (3rd) and Tour of Slovenia (2nd, behind Nibali). He was also 4th in Giro di Lombardia in 2008...

But then again, most of those results probably come with the aid of Dr Ferrari. So I'm obviously not saying that Clement is more suspicious than Visconti, but I'd say their climbing this month has been equally surprising. I'm not implying that Clement is doped, however, because I don't think he is.

You seemed quite surprised by Clement's climbing in Dauphine yourself, so don't pretend that it was expected
