What sprinters can we expect to do well at the Giro??

Plenty of the top sprinters present, led by Cavendish, Farrar, Goss, Haedo, Petacchi, Bennati, Bos, Renshaw...plus quite a few others.

Goss, Bos and Renshaw seem to be the pick of the guys who rode in Turkey. Cav and Farrar have been quiet of late. I think Goss and Bos would be the best in form sprinters but Cav has a team set up around him and can never be discounted. Bos and Renshaw seemed to swap around in Turkey, depending on the type of sprint finish and possibly who felt the best. Pity Goss fell on the last stage as I think he was gearing for his first win of the season.

I doubt Bos will do much in the Giro. The stages he won in Turkey were just 120 and 135 kilometers long and very flat. Of all the big tours, I think the Giro is the one where Bos would achieve the least. Endurance seems to be his weakness.

There seems to be only 1 stage in the third week with possible sprint outcome, stage 18. But probably also well-fit for a breakaway. Otherwise second-rate sprinters might have gotten a shot against Cavendish, if he was tired or already dropped out

Felline reported the other day that the Giro team has been doing an altitude camp (donno where..) last week.
