in castilla leon last year he finished 7 seconds of, of froome in a 14 km flat itt. 21 years old only.
That was Froome still in his Bilharzia period. Heck, Anton and Mollema finished (way) ahead of Froome in that TT.

he's definitely better than purito. the final giro itt henao also finished something like 25. that is mandatory to gt riders that recuperate well. I can only think how well quintana would've won in that itt considering his recuperation abilities
How about Quintana's TT in the Dauphiné? He had no reason not to go full gas. And he had the form, after all he won that stage a few days later. He didn't even make the top-100.

he was saving himself in dauphinee. he already lost a lot of time. he did ride the prologue full, which he did well despite the unsuiting course(short) and headwind

Fixed if for you ;).

I hope that's not a UCI fix ! Seriously top 50 for Dennis is a tad extreme and top 5 is obviously more than a bit hopeful. Let's say top 20 ! Basso and Dennis seemed to lose it pretty quickly while Cadel keeps banging away. Would have liked to have seen Cadel in the Giro next year but we know it won't happen.

That depends, half of the riders rode on a wet course.

including him. he started around halfway. only the first 15 and last few rode in pretty dry conditions

link for you

There is plenty of time yet for such worthwhile discussion of my hero :D

Thanks heaps for the link. I really like the route. I wonder how at all decisive stage 4 will be? The high mountains look great. It's wonderful that they are taking the Galibier via the Telegraphe. This will be most difficult as a MTF.
