But we have suspense...
Guy still in pink, still leading the race, still has Bora front and center. And talk about paying attention!! Roglic got the reveal if he needs to chase Del Toro and if UAE was going to sneak in a secret plan. No, Ayuso still designated leader, got to see if Yates was a player, not today . Roglic raced excellent despite skeleton staff going up uphill.Yeah, like many here say he's OLD and just not paying attention. His interview after suggested he wasn't really trying for the win so maybe he's senile, too.
He should just leave the race now, right?
Made sure to do enough to get 2nd and reduce the bonuses for others but without dragging the gap closer. What a teammate!! Del Toro had lots of gas left and when Ayuso jumped, Del Toro super, super aware and careful not to tow anyone while he tried for his result, which he got, Bernal absolutely drilling it, great race by him. Roglic while he didn't win still very controlled and economical, he rolled across not losing much, good race. Overall excellent race by the bunch, personally I thought first climb would have popped more riders, good chase and show of confidence and commitment by FDJ..
No idea but he seemed to be looking very freshOdd statement by Pellizzari: "this finale didn't suit OUR characteristics".
Might have something to do with Roglic changing his training to be more of a diesel and cope with long range attacks in the Tour?
Or perhaps Pellizzari was talking about himself only.
If Storer didn't crash today then he should strike while the iron is hot.
Storer did crash indeed on Thursday, as Raphael Meyer from Tudor confirmed during the Swiss TV coverage today. He didn't go into detail, but said that this stage was mainly about not losing too much time.Didn't even know he also crashed, yeah Tudor also out then.
Except for Ayuso and Del Toro, it seems.Egan bernal the cycling world is behind you in this giro ditalia
I feel like everyone is trying to gaslight me into finding the Giro more exciting than the Tour. Like in the Vuelta last year when BOC got all that time, and everyone started going on about how we finally had a competitive race...and then Rogla won easily. I reckon this Giro will be the same - Ayuso and Roglic will share the mountain top finishes between them, and Roglic will win GC comfortably after Ayuso has an unexpectedly bad day somewhere.Sort of, but the last few k of the climb today with 15 guys who could've won had me out of the seat much more than anything GC related in last years edition.
Watching back Bernal rode it wrong, not his responsibility to bring Ciccone's attack in.
That's a common feature of cycling forums all over, unfortunately. Has been that way literally for decades.I feel like everyone is trying to gaslight me into finding the Giro more exciting than the Tour.
After watching the last several kms I have to change my mind on Roglic quitting cycling....
It's not more exciting than the tour of course but still better than last years Giro, Pogacar races range from 0/10 over in 5 seconds when he has no competition to 10/10 2 hours of high stakes action when he does against Vingegaard. Vuelta was good last year even discarding the GC, just the vibes of the likes of Soler and Kern Pharma were immaculate.I feel like everyone is trying to gaslight me into finding the Giro more exciting than the Tour. Obviously I'll be thrilled if I'm actually wrong and Egan Bernal ends up winning GC.
Sunday should be good . Just hopefully nobody going home in ambulance. Piddock will want to win and he's only 1 minute behind so they won't let him go, they have to follow. It's not more exciting than the tour of course but still better than last years Giro, Pogacar races range from 0/10 over in 5 seconds when he has no competition to 10/10 2 hours of high stakes action when he does against Vingegaard. Race will open up when there are bigger gaps I think, lesser GC guys getting in breaks and such.
Yes I think Bernal should make a dodgy deal with Del Toro before the stage for them to both attack at some point too, get in his ear telling him he can beat Ayuso and this is his big chance, really stir the pot.Sunday should be good . The best thing that could happen to Ayuso's rivals is if Del Toro ignores his team's instructions on Sunday and goes all out, creating a conflict in the UAE.UAE has the roster to kill competition. I want to see Del Toro get into a 5 mins break and Ayuso getting crazy. Let me get some drama!
Tiberi needs a sustained, constant pace on easier slopes. With the team in front he could control the pace and had no risks of the group fractioning in front of him. It was Pello Bilbao who made the call because he thought the climb had too many turns and the elastic could snap in case there were accelerations, stop&gos and whatnot.I didn't understand Bahrain today. Tiberi has no sprint. Have they gone for their podium chances?
Bilbao seems like a very smart rider to me.Tiberi needs a sustained, constant pace on easier slopes.
