bardet saying the stages for him are on the way ? Not feeling good today after rest day

But he wont be given chances in 7th now
Bengsch was highly critical about Bardet last Saturday. Claiming that the Frenchman does both (going for the general classification & stage wins from the breakaway), but nothing fully. So that his attempts end up half baked, freely cited.

IMHO Bengsch is 100% correct and Bardet made this mistake before!

To be fair, BYR competitions haven't been much of a thing in recent years...
And even here, it just suffered a big blow... :weary:

Uijtdebroeks vs Tiberi loomed highly interesting.

While they are still in close competition as of now, Zana is likely not strong enough climber while Arensman & Baudin have captains to help.

To have even a single semi-exciting category in this race, we need Geraint to crash out... (sarcasm)

Ineos could just send Arensman up the road instead of controlling the race. There's a 2nd spot to gain from Martinez rather than a 3rd place to defend from Thomas that way. Pogacar might be far away enough and apart from UAE only Ineos has got the horsepower.

So it's wise to put BORA etc into a position to a position to work and defend which they can't cope with!

Otherwise Rubio certainly is going to try so full Rujano style. With a strengthened Quintana in company. That's dangerous and a lot of work for Ineos instead. Breaking Arensman instead of taking advantage of him.

Pogi does n't like to be held back ...
https://cyclinguptodate.com/cycling...-concessions-doesnt-necessarily-make-me-happy
"It was a fairly diplomatic decision not to ride for the stage win. But making such concessions doesn't necessarily make me happy," Pogacar said in a post-race interview. "We wanted to race in a way that would make everyone happy. It wasn't about whether I would win or not. We just rode more calmly, and that meant Bahrain Victorious had to do more work. We weren't in control on the final climb."
