Short TTT in short stage races really make no sense:confused:
Why do you say that: Is it because of the extra work that the teams have to put in, with bikes, mechanics etc?
Otherwise, 15kms against the clock seems more than adequate in a 4 stage race............except perhaps one with these parcours.

It's basically a false flat from that side, though

While the Pordoi is one of the more gradient friendly Dolomite climbs, I'd hardly call it a false flat.
Stands to reason, if they intend going over 2000m in April, they select a more accessible road.
Good for the bigger engines, more like.

Looking at the profile for the Pordoi stage again, it essentially looks like a 177km false flat.

I'm pleased to see Pordoi included. Not as difficult as some of the more recently used/discovered Dolomite climbs, but legendary and essential to Italian cycling nonetheless.

Exactly i mean bringing all those TTT bikes equipment ect siply seems like a lot of work and organization. Especially in such a climbers race this really seems like a waste. If they have a TTT they should do it on normal road bikes. At least this would make things easier.

Well it's below 6% average . So compared to that othe rmountain there it's a false flat.

You do realise that TTT bikes are just TT bikes. One for every rider. So the work is just the same as if there was a individual time trial.

Funny I never though I see you argue to remove TT's from races altogether;)

Maybe organizers intentionally put TTT to course as a chance for riders to test it towards upcoming Giro d'Italia TTT.

From RomanKreuziger.com :

Briefly: He says, he planned to go through three Giro d'Itlia stages, but had to put it off cos there was snowing all over 900 meters in the Dolomites, with new 1.5 meters snow cover on Zoncolan and police closed the passes. He only made the queen 3rd Trentino stage with Punta Veleleno, and stated on the climb that the finish hill was really terrible and compared it to Mt. Zoncolan climb.

man the weather is so bad in italy that I think the stages will be canceled or seriously altered :(
The Pordoi stage could. The others shouldn't, low altitude and no snow (I guess)

even if it snows, that shouldn't be too much, and in Trentino they're used to clear roads from snow you know :D The main issue could be ice on the descent, but 4 degrees are enough.

Yep, that's what they're used to do in Trentino...
But riding in such circumstances is NOT what they're used to do in the peloton :)

Well it has to be a training camp for the Giro... There won't be 20 °C on the Stelvio in May... ;)

One of Cunego/ Scarponi to win.

I hope Basso can start to go well.

Barta to top 5.

Gadret, Kreuziger, Rolland ( hopefully ), Serpa and Rujano and Di Luca to go well too.

Androni did a great TTT at Settimana last year, hope they can put in a good performance tomorrow, would be a good sign towards limiting their losses in the Giro TTT

Barta is not a great climber, to big mountains for him. Konig should be their best chance for the GC, maybe Huzarski. Netapp should win or be close in the TT

Cunego, Scarponi, Szmyd, Rolland, Pozzovivo, Rujano, Gadret for the win.

Great field of climbers, should be a great race

I can see BMC or Lampre winning the TTT. Not because their team is great(its crap). But because the other teams TTT are even crapier:p Maybe liquigas and astana can win it too.
