Women's race arrives first (just now)
Ordine d'arrivo ufficioso:
1° Rossella Ratto (Estado do Mexico Faren)
2° Edwige Pitel (Michela Fanini Rox)
3° Giorgia Bronzini (Nazionale Italiana)
4° Dalia Muccioli (Astana BePink)
5° Spela Kern (Btc City Lubjana)

I know it's not the strongest field what with none of the Dutch, Belgian or German squads participating, but still... Giorgia Bronzini beat Alena Amialiusik on San Luca. Never thought I'd see the day.

Also, Estado de Mexico have been struggling for finances of late, so a win will be a boost to morale (and accounts). How good is Rossella Ratto, anyhow - she won't be 21 until next week, but she's on her way to a second top 20 World ranking result, which for a hilly specialist who can't sprint is pretty impressive in the women's calendar.

Or, to put it another way, when Rossella Ratto was born, Davide Rebellin had just wrapped up his second season as a professional.

rebellin is one of the most respected guys in the peloton and to many pros opinions, the nicest guy there. rasmussen said that he only heard him using an inapropriate word, once.
he shows what's normal, that he is the most talented hilly classic rider since argentin. very nice win by him, and what a shame that he's blacklisted for the big teams. i wish he would go world tour for another year, maybe in 2016 who knows... bravo davide!
Whatever you say mister im obsessed with doped riders. I hope he goes away sooner rather than later.

Michele Bartoli or Frank VDB were more talented;)

Davide Rebellin finished ninth in Giro di Lombardia 1992, on October 17th. Davide Formolo, who finished sixth today, was born eight days later. I guess you can say that every time Rebellin races. I still find him to be an impressive and strange dude.

I think he must be #1 for most top ten finishes ever in major classics. Until the suspension he was always good in every classic every year (not Roubaix + Flanders).

Rebellin has my biggest respect, super serious in his lifestyle and training. You will struggle to find someone more dedicated to the sport.

Would be very interested in his real story about what he did do and whant he didn't and how its affected him now. My beef is he acts like nothing ever happened.

Zardini did most of the work in the chase group and still ended up 4th. Not bad.

Yep, i think Zardini was second strongest yesterday, he made a lot of work and still finished higher than Bongiorno, strange tactic from Bardiani. Formolo made a lot of work too, don't know for who
