Giro d'Italia 2011 Stage 21: Milano ITT

Great stuff from Millar. Seems to be getting better with age. Let's not make out Bertie could have taken it if he'd wanted - you could see him really going for it early on (as demonstrated by the 1st split), understandably ran out of gas and then cruised a bit when he realised it wasn't going to happen.

That caps a pretty remarkable May for British cycling. 2 stages and a spell in pink for Cav, a win and a 2nd and a spell in pink for Millar, a stage win in the ToC for Swift, a big win over Spartacus for Wiggins and a GC win for Thomas.

To bad for Rasmussen who had a flat in the last km. According to himself that cost him 20-30 secs, i.e. it cost him the win. Great ride by Millar though.

Disappointing Menchov.

Poor Rasmussen. Millar looked very good though. Contador could have owned that ITT. Nice ride by Porte too. Konovalas failed i had pinned hopes on him. Kruisjswijk beat clement though so congrats. We can also determine that if Cam Meyer went to HTC he would be better than Gretsch at setting up Cav's train/ riding tempo.

Classy ride by Millar to round off a good weekend for the Brits.

Contador was just awesome - he could have made that so embarrassing for the others but nice to see some generosity, humility and class.

Was there ever any doubt what would happen once he hooked up with Bjarne?

Imagine if he gets Gilbert next season too...

Hitch your intro to the Zoncolan stage was much better than that bit of the race. Respect.
